Looking for someone who works for Asurion

There was at one time someone who worked for Asurion who was here and I hate that I can't remember her name. I finally after all this time did get hired on there and wanted to thank her for putting them on my radar. My son interviews today at there warehouse as well.

I now will have insurance again and it is Excellus BC/BS and I was curious to ask her how her process went. I am not sure if I want to have Gastric or DS. COuld possibly decide on VSG. Still investigating. I may look somewhere other then Baptist cause I callled and I got Dawn and she has never been really helpful or personable to me. SOme *****member what I went through when at Verizon know she was kinda rude and asked why do we all cry when we get turned down. Not sure I want to deal with her and she didn't seem to want to offer me much info when I called.

I see they now do the surgery in Murfreesboro but has anyone had it there? I emailed them last week and have not heard a word. I am thinking of calling Centennial. I know it was kinda confusing finding my way around there but it is beautiful and they ladies were soooooo nice at seminar.
I sure hope that someone has the same insurance and can give me advice or that my friend from before is still here and will read this because I am so grateful that two years ago she started telling me about Asurion. Thank you! Thoughts on other Drs and hospitals?

If you want to call Heather at Centennial, she can tell you the specific criteria on Asurion's plan. I don't believe they are covering the sleeve at present, but we can always ask again. Heather may be reached at 615-342-1231, then chose the option for the financial counselors. Good luck on your journey!

Thanks Pam! I actually got the policy yesterday by email where it pertains to the surgery and they will cover sleeve but not as a stand alone but as a first step so I will probably need to have RNY or DS to have it covered. I did notice it said 6 months diet program but it doesn't have to be consecutive just have to confirm how far back it can be. I am thinking the way it reads they look at the last 5 years. I will contact Heather this morning. I just have never been able to get the info I need out of Bapotist without pushing and I think this is a better fit for me because I remember going to the Cent. Seminar first but they were out of my network and they readily gave me info. Have a great day!

Great news! I love Sherry at Centennial! She listened and didn't brush me off. She gave me useful information and so I am going to get the paperwork today and she will start requesting the documentation from doctors to review.  She also said she don't know why I was denied that they have never had Cigna deny someone for changing Drs before... hmmmm wouldn't suprise me if someone dropped the ball at the other hospital. I am so happy that she was able to tell me she could review the information and then advise me what I would need to get approved. Very knowledgeable! I feel I am in the right place and good hands here! Thanks for the number. I can now just take a step in the right drection.

That's great! We have a great team and since so many of us have had surgery, we know what's it's like to need to be listened to and helped through the process.

I will tell you Pam this took a load off my mind and heart. I have always wondered about some info I was getting but felt I just had to go with it and I feel so much better and more positive about it. I am not worried, I know what I need to do, what may need to be done after that, I have clear ideas about finances, I have never had it so clear. No, she could not tell me everything or guarantee me anything but I feel more confident that because she really listened that she will have better ability to address my situation to start with because she got to know my case some not just treating it like part of a herd. It is nice to that she could share that she had lap band and then was revised. Helped me to decide yes, have to be RNY and probably will go with Dr Dyer. Now just have to call and get me a new PCP because I moved back and don't have one yet. THinking of the one I had before I moved.

For a PCP, you may want to consider Dr. Macmillan at 615-327-4700. He's seen many of our patients and spent some time with our surgeons in the clinic. Another great option is Dr. Sterling Barrett at the Frist Clinic 342-1000.

I appreciate the info but this Dr I am getting is already familiar with me and local to my home and work. He also is who saw my sister through to her surgery of course that was during the same time I was denied. I do have the forms and am working on them now. I just hesitate to get me a doctor not by me because if my budget gets tight or if gas goes up I will sturggle to make the appts. I originally was seeing Dr. Scales but was not happy there and that is when I changed to Dr. Holloway. I know he has no problem with me having the surgery so I will see how it goes and if not well I will change but I am sure it will be ok. Thanks so much for the info.

You know my dream job at my company would be to recruit for them but with my mobility how it is I cannot. I would also love to be a trainer. I just can't do things where I have walking and standing involved. It is sad but true. I am actually sending the form the doctors fill in to my older doctor from WA so he can send my records but also translate it onto that form so it will be easier for the insurance to feel there is a consistent pattern.

I am not sure what your BMI is but if it is fairly high then I would seriously look at the DS (if your insurnace covers it).    You can get facts about the Ds at www.dsfacts.com - they have some good comparisions on there and it was very helpful in my research.    We also have a DS support group that meets in Hermitage the 2nd Thursday of the month (which just happens to be next Thursday) - you could come to one and see some real life DSer's and hear our experiences.  I would also suggest you go to some other support groups and talk with people who have all the different types of surgery so you can see what the long term lifestyle will be like.    If you have any questions about the DS please feel free to message me.

It looks like they are saying at my weight I don't weigh enough really. I am on the taller side so even though I am 400 I am hearing I am too small? I guess I will likely do the RNY but will still look at the info you provided. Thank you for it. In talking to people I am thinking that it may be too rapid a weight loss for me. Kinda scared about it and that it will require more stringent lifestyle? Sorry can't make it unless it is a Friday or a Saturday I would 12-9 p :(
