If you are asked by the surgeon to lose 12 pounds in 2 months,  if you dont lose this by the end of the 2 month point, will he not do the surgery?

My surgeon said I would like to see you lose around 6 pounds a month for the next 2 months, so far Im only down 5 lbs and I have the month of April to lose 7 pounds now. But what if I fall short by a couple of pounds will my surgery be put on hold?

Every surgeon is different - but I assume your surgeon wants you to loose the weight to shrink your liver and other organs to make the surgery easier on him.  I would not worry about this and keep doing what you are doing - you will be amazed at how much you will loose during your 2 week liquid diet (if you have to do one - I think you will).  I did a 5 day liquid diet for Dr. Houston and dropped 15 pounds in those 5 days.

It's tough, but you can do it, look at the positive sweetie! Take one step at a time! It is to benifit your health during and after the surgery. I lost 40 lbs. never would I've thought I could do it, but with the help of the docs. and all the support, as I look back now it was a stepp'n stone to start your journey! And your first investment in you, this change is for you and you alone, rather it be for several reasons or just afew, it doesn't matter! Truth be known we all want to take every advantage in our health to feel the best!!! Hugz Sweets!

They will not cancel or delay your surgery if you are a few pounds shy because it still shows you were following the plan and trying. The best thing you can do prior to surgery is to lose weight, the worst thing you can do is to go on the "eating tour of middle TN" and gain weight!
