My---411
Sorry I haven't posted sooner, just trying to collect my thoughts on everything. First things first I think I am really going like going to Vandy and having Dr. Williams as my surgeon. After my long day on Monday, here's the scoop.
I will be having the RNY one way or the other sometime in Septemeber/October of this year. I have to start all over agin with the 6 month's PCP visit's and the nut eval. I am having the fun scope down my throat the 1st of April. The doctor wants to make sure all that is ok. The upper GI looked good. He is really concerned about me having scar tissue where the band was. If he goes in Lap and there is too much scar tissue, then he will have to open me up. He wants another surgeon in there with him, which at first concerned me and I got upset, but I realized that if there was going to be complications, then the more in there the better. I will be starting my PCP visits this month and get that going. I start the education classes next week. I will be meeting with him again in about 4 months to go over all the test and getting everything finalized. He is sure that he can get the RNY done one way or the other. I just hate that I won't know for sure which way he was able to get it done until I wake up. I am the type of person, that can deal with things that I know are going to happen, rather then not knowing. We talked about possible leaks and what would be done in that case.
I know it's been a couple of years, but I think there was someone on here, that had the RNY, they went in Lap, but it couldn't be done that way and they ended having to open them up. Does anyone remember who it was? I would love to talk with them and ask questions.
So anyway that is it for now, like I said I am still trying to process all of this and having a real hard time with it all. I will update as my journey continues.
Hope everyone is doing good and having a great day.
Happy St. Pactrick's Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
