Snack foods

General question... I'm almost a year out and I seem to want to 'graze' more these days. The 'hunger' sensation seems to now be returning and so is the urge to snack.

What do you you guys typically stock your refrigerators/pantries with when you get the munchies? I have no sugar added applesauce, baby pickles, turkey pepperoni, animal crackers and cheese sticks (among other things).

I'm trying to avoid 'trigger' foods that will make the grazing worse. I have to keep a close eye to make sure I am maintaining, and not gaining my weight back.

The goal would be to eat three meals per day so that you don't "graze"---especially since eating a bunch of tiny "meals/snacks" can cause calories ot add up quickly.  Of course, that's the goal...and I still haven't been able to achieve it!  That said....string cheese, pistacios or almonds, even 16 Reduced Fat Wheat Thins with some salsa or, better yet (for some protein), 1/4 cup part skim mozz cheese melted on it.....these all work really well for me & are filling.

....remember, you always have the old faithful "unlimited" foods like sugar free popsicles, etc.....I just suggest that when you are thinking you are "hungry" you stop & think about if you are/really should be "hungry" and if you have eaten enough protein so far that day.

I also try to think about everything I am eating & ask myself before I eat it if there is a better choice that would satisfy me with less calories & more protein....

And for a sweet tooth...sugar free pudding....good luck! Micheala.

I eat lunch so early at my job....10:00 so by 3-4:00  I have to have a snack when I get home or I would have to eat supper too early. I have sliced cheese or dry roasted peanuts. They are crunchy and salty and make me feel like I am having a "bad" snack when I am not. Jus****ch portions! ~shell
