XPost on Fat Model and Supportive Husband

I originally posted this on my surgery forum.  Based on the replies, I felt that perhaps I might also want to post it here.  Because 1., the fat model really was an eye-opener, and 2. we all need all the support we can get.  Yeah, I brag on my husband AND I brag on the support I get from y'all.  I've learned so much from everyone.  THANK YOU!

One year ago, I weighed 303 pounds, 182 of which were fat according tho the bio-measurements performed by Dr. Wonderful, my PCP.  Today, I weighed 181, with a mere 62 pounds of that being fat.  So to be even more obnoxious, the doc had a life size model of a 5 pound hunk of fat.  I showed it to my husband and gave him the numbers.  He got real quiet and figured out that if my fat loss was duplicated there would be 24 of those things sitting on the floor.  Then he said, if they were in a bag, I wouldn't even be able to lift it yet every time I stood up a year ago, I lfted 120 pounds of fat.  He got a huge smile on his  face and said he was so glad I had the surgery and was getting healthy.  Right now, I have to say, as much as I'm loving my DS, Hubby is way ahead in the ratings.

If you ever get the chance to see a life size model of 5 pounds of fat, it will probaby blow your mind as much as mine was.  In fact I wish everyone could see it.  It really puts things in perspective when I look back at my stalls.  Dang; a five pound loss looks freaking amazing.  Over a hundred almost renders me speechless.  Never, ever again will I complain if my weight loss slows down to "only"  five pounds between hops on the scales.

Great post! I remember seeing Oprah pulling a wagon full of the amount by pounds of fat that she had lost on Optifast. That was an eye opener too!
