Consult with Dr. Houston & psych eval - what to expect?
We support ya Denise, as we've heard your stories on what you've been through there. It is enough to be going through the process with the lap band, but for them to make it more difficult would frustrate the hell out of even me. You gotta do what you gotta do for you, this is your journey. But no matter what, you are always more than welcome to come to our support meeting, because that's what it is, it's mine and Missy's meeting, it just held at Vandy.

Thanks, Kenny! I totally appreciate it! I'll stalk, I mean follow, you and Missy where ever you hold your support group!
I try to be a patient patient, but even I have limits! I simply gave up, after having to argue with Debbie about when Dr. Williams wanted to see me next (he SAID 4-6 weeks, she insisted he said 8 weeks and that the further you are from surgery, the farther apart your fills should be. Fine. Whatever. I'm tired of bickering.)
I'm better off investing the energy in myself than trying to persuade them to see patients as individuals and hear their issues. I really like and respect Dr. Williams and his surgical talents, but is he enough to save my experience? It's tough. And with the band, if you don't have adequate after-care, you're SCREWED.
Onto better stuff--I have enticed another hooligan to come to the meeting this week. If we behave as silly-ly in public as we do in our OH email banters, I suspect you and the Missus will be slapping our hands with rulers about 20 minutes into it!

I am a Dr. Houston patient and was a transfer as well from another physician many years ago. I had the band in 2003, switched to Dr. H in 2005 and was ready for it to be converted for a couple of years. The process was lengthy due to insurance. I am 7 days post op with my DS and ready for this drain to come out on Thursday. He is a very confident surgeon. I couldn't imagine letting anyone else do my surgery!!! Even my insurance case manager shares how his stats are among the best. Just follow his directions and you will be great.
Best wishes!
Pam,
I expect to see you and our educator Thursday. Thanks for the "tuck in".

Is there any way you can come in Thursday and stay somewhere nearby? There's a Hampton Inn a few blocks away from Centennial.
I certainly wouldn't want to miss it if I were you!
Keeping fingers crossed that we get a snow day but you are able to safely get to your appointments! (but I reaaaaally want a snow day )
