My thoughts on WLS and programs.........
I just feel the need to post on this topic, my early post on aggravation was too short.
Ok first thing is, whenever I decided on wls I researched for 8 months on all the different surgeries. I believe if everyone does this they will be totally informed on all your options. I believe that 2nd, research your surgeon choices. find the one that will be right for you.
Read and then read some more about your surgery choice, people who have had it, how they like it and how they are living with it. Then finally when you start your program, You are in charge. No program is perfect , but they are here to help us get the surgery WE need, so we can live happy , healthy lives.
Be your own advocate, for your health. Nuts can only tell you what you need to do , and educate you on your new life and eating habits. It is up to us to do what we need to do to make our tools work for us. Our surgeons do the surgery, but can't live our lives.
The bottom line is do what is best for you to do to make your tool work. If you are not feeling comfortable with any program, try another one, because we need to see these people for a longtime. You will want to feel comfortable with the care you are receiving. I guess my whole point is be an informed patient, because this is a wonderful gift, and I want everyone to be as happy as I am.
