it's my birthday
ok so I don't post often but I read daily. as I sit and ponder my life I am feeling down. I have lost 137lbs. I am 3 lbs away from onederland. I am one month shy of my 1 year surgiversary so why a m I down? I feel huge and am afraid of gaining all that weight back. I have slipped back into bad carb habits the last month and don't want it to spiral out of control. I have gotten lazy and find excuses not to exercise and that makes me feel bad. please give me a big kick in the bottom so I can get back on track. but be nice since it is my bday. thanks for letting me ramble and vent this morning. Sure you need to get back to the program...but don't minimize wha tyou have done so far! I reward myself with a trip to Goodwill for "new" clothes now instead of carbs..... you really have to walk a lot and look a lot there so I count that as excercise too!

Hi and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You've had great success so far! I understand about the carbs being a temptation. I have been avoiding carbs just forever, and I'm sick of it. I'm still avoiding them but it makes me cranky. You'd think that would only happen right when you give them up and then you feel better, but noooooooo.
Anyway, the weight-losing period of time is finite. I figure I'm best served by just avoiding starchy carbs all together whilst I'm in this weight losing time frame. I hope to get a LOT closer to my goal.
The temptation is a pain. My husband went and bought a tray of fruit turnovers, which are a big temptation for me - mmmmmmm puff pastry! Oh and TWO kinds of Klondike bars! Can he spell "sabotage?"
So, it's your birthday. Have a fun day, have a bit of cake if that's what will make you feel better and properly celebratory. Then get back on the "wagon" and do the basics until you're at goal or so close to it that you know you need to start adding starchy carbs in order to slow down your weight loss. It'll be worth it in the end!!
