Hello!!!!
Hello everyone! I'm feeling pretty good today and thought I'd send a shout out to everyone here on the board. Yes, sure you thought it was safe to go in the water and yes the water is fine but not the land, because I roam, I may be in constant pain but trust me I roam the earth. I can do that now you know........lol. I have missed everyone here.
I went back for my one year postop visit and got a lot of good news and I am thankful to God for everything. I am actually below my dietician's goal weight that she set for me in the beginning. I suppose it due to my hard word, determination and dedication to a new lifestyle. I enjoy trying new things like eggplant, tofu, and zucchini lasagna and other things and have worked my way around to making or remaking recipes to suit my lifestyle now.
I am now weighing 164 pounds and am pretty darn happy about it. A lot of my health problems are gone but I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and raynaud's syndrome but hey, I'm still moving along with my life. I may hurt but I try not to stop or sit on the sideline too often. All in all I'm loving life.
I was told about the upcoming walk from obesity in September and yes, I will be walking for Vanderbilt. I have at least accomplished most of my fitness goals and I couldn't be happier with myself or my life.
Hello to any of the WLS veterans that read this post. I may not get to the board as often as I wish to but I do come around and doing GREEAAT!!

Hello Diane! How are ya girl?! I sure have missed you and find myself thinking of you often. I got your comment awhile back and read about some of the things you hve gone through. I do not know a lot about fibro, but from what I understand, it is very painful, even to touch the body. Are the doctors able to provide any type of medicine that makes it easier to function?
Wow, 164 lbs!? That is incredible... I only wish I was able to see you on a month to month basis during your losing time so that I could watch it melt off... that is such an inspiring thing. if/when you come to nashville, let me know because I want to come and meet with you.... I miss ya!

Hey Mel!
It's good to see a familiar face still hanging here at the board.
There are several medicines that can be prescribed for fibroMYAGONY, I'm seeing a doctor at Vanderbilt for it so he's trying to find a medicine that will work and not have so many side effects. Yes, it's extremely painful, I hate when I'm so flared up that I can't even accept a hug from anyone and I have to caution them before they even touch me. I make acceptions for some people though....LOL.
You of all people know how much hard work and effort goes into getting to a healthy weight, shucks you're one of the WLS Vets that I looked up to and still do for motivation. I seem to be a one of a kind woman in this little town, people look at me and compliment me all of the time and tell me that what I have accomplished is almost unbelievable, but to me it isn't if you work at something you want and have been given a tool to aid in your accomplishment then there is no reason that the specific goal can't be reached.
When I went for my one year post op my dietician didn't let me out of the door without a registration form for the September Walk From Obesity, so I will be there on September 19th to walk for Vandy, that's my word and I'm sticking to it.
It's going to be so exciting to finally meet you and besides I had planned to hang around Nashville that day anyway just because I need the time away now we can go places and do things and shot we might even go to a Goodwill store or two and see what's going on.No, but really I wouldn.t mind finding a wider assortment items/clothes than we have here.
I have a recent photo that I need to post I'm going to take another one today and post that one as well, so everyone can see what a difference a year makes.
I'm gabbing on but it's almost time for me to get myself together to see my oncologist so I will go but will post the pictures when I get back,,,be on the look out for them.
Love ya!
Diane

Hey girl!! It is good to hear from you I have been wondering how you were doing. I am anxios to be on the other side in post -op... I hope I can adjust to trying new things. Have you found the Tofu is helping your skin bounce back? I have read that keeping tofu in your diet will help you tone more skin. If so I am going to eat it daily..lol.
