August Lunch Bunch - history behind it
This Saturday it is!!
Now for a location...Logan's at Rivergate, or TGIFriday's at Rivergate?? Or is there somewhere else someone wants to try?
Since we have so many newbies on the board who have not attended a luncheon and do not know the history behind it, I will give the Reader's Digest version.
About 3 1/2 years ago, a few of us on this board decided we wanted to meet face to face. That first meeting was 4 of us getting together for a short visit at the workplace of one of the members. Next came the on board correspondence to set up a lunch meeting between 2 other board members to which Melinda and I responded and asked if we could join in.
Following that luncheon and one other meeting, several people on the board chimed in that they would like to participate if we decided to do it again. Then the recommendation was made to make it a monthly thing and the Lunch Bunch was born.
This gathering is open to anyone who has had, is going to have, is researching/considering having, any form of WLS as well as support people. This can be spouse, parents, siblings, children, friends...whoever you want to bring. We don't care which doctor or center you have used or are considering using or what type of surgery you have chosen.
This is an opportunity to ask questions; provide answers/advice; share recipes, goals, WOW moments, struggles, and laughs. We also share our tips for finding the best choices for us when eating out. We have even been known to share entrees to keep from having to take home leftovers.
This is the opportunity to hug the neck of someone who has become your cyber-buddy and share some good conversation as well as a good meal.
We normally meet the second Saturday of each month at 1pm and the location is open to suggestion. Anyone can recommend a restaurant they like or are just curious about trying.
I hope more of you will make it a point to join us and see if we are your cup of Crystal Light. ::BIG GRIN::
