I got approved and have a date

Hello fellow TN'ers! I think its been a while since I posted here but here's my update. I got my call today saying I was approved for my DS and then later Holly at Dr. Houston's office called and I set up a pre-op date of Aug 31st and surgery on Sept 8th. I am also shopping for friends and an angel :) I never expected to be approved right away, so needless to say, I feel a bit shocked, but still giddy as heck. 
My surgery will be open, and Dr Houston is going out of town for 2 weeks after I have it. So Holly did give me the option of Aug 28th instead. I think I will call tomorrow to make sure he's comfortable with the 8th, or would he rather wait till he's in town, since its open.
What would yall do?

Congratulations, Dustydeer!  That indeed is a wonderful event! I know that you must be feeling so excited, overwhelmed, and probably raring to go! 

Congratulations!!  Dr. Houston is a fabulous surgeon from everything I hear!

I know its seems like its been a long road, but its getting closer.

congrats Dusty - If you are still in need of an angel I would love to help ya out.   I will even come visit ya in the hospital .

Also an update, I misunderstood Holly and Dr Houston won't be out 2 weeks after, just 1 and I am set solid for the Sept 8th.  I already love that office, they keep on top of it all. Loving CMC, as they've already given me a pre-op call to prepare for anesthesia.

I just got your email and will be emailing you back tomorrow with some of the answers to your questions.   SEPTEMBER 8th - How exciting.   I have my 6 month follow up on 09/10 so I can come visit you then (and I will bring Izzy and RIta since they are Dr. Houston DSer's and will be in town for their 3 month follow ups). 

I am so grateful for everyone's support!  I hope I'll remember meeting you all :)
I am not sure which be on duty on which day or night, my husband or my mom. Whichever, they'll love to meet you as well.

Gettin' excited! I have been low carbing for a week now, haven't weighed, probably won't till my pre-op on Aug 31.

Low carbing is good!  Just consider it practice for when you get to solid foods post-op.  The days will fly by and we've got plenty of room for you on the Loser's Bench.  Enjoy the party with John & Company!
