Gratz on the 21 lbs lost. I wont go over the protein, because honestly you wont want any of it after surgery and it all taste nasty.

But as for the central line. You will only have one if you have "poor veins" like me. I have awful veins and became the anesthesiologist pin cushion. I had one Dr on each side stabbing at me trying to get an IV in. Now although I prefer to not get poked it doesn't bother me because I am so used to it. So once they got an IV in they gave me some feel loopy meds and before I knew it they were taking an xray of me (they check the position of the central line after it's in) I honestly don't recall them actually putting it in. Once it's in they take out the IV. And when they take out the central line it was no worse then them removing an IV. Honestly I preferred the central line to having an IV. All meds went right into it and I didn't feel it at all.

HTH your apprehension.

Well meaning family & friends can be the biggest roadblock.  Remember none of us had the knowledge we do now until we really did our homework.  Sometimes we need to cut them some slack and they will only become more confused as you start dropping weight fast.  Oh if they are just mean tell them to kiss your AZZ!  Those protein bullets with high amount of protein are good but on average you only absorb 25-35 grams at one time so may be split it up.  Bama & I lived off SF protein Jell-o for the first couple months.  C'ya Bob

You rant all you want to. We all have before and will again. It sounds like you are doing great on your liquid diet. I know you will be happy about your weight loss after surgery too. It's getting close, congratulations.

MrsWinslow:

Looks like you are doing great with your pre-op diet!  I don't officially start mine until Saturday the 22.  Dr. Houston is just requiring a 2 day pre-op diet..  However, I may start a few days early to get a jump start.

See you in the operating room on the 24th!

Mary
