Frustrated....

First you're only 3 weeks out!  Second forget what the doctor says regarding weight loss, everyone is different.  When I went for my first visit after surgery he was disappointed.  When I went for my six months he said he didn't think I would lose mich more and that was okay, not good but fair.  Well I'm 1 year out and I'm no longer overweight and my BMI is in the normal range.  When I saw him on Tuesday he was very surprised and admitted he didn't think I would do it.  I just lost my weight differently then most people.  If I had compared myself to everyone else I would have given up and my surgery would have been a failure.  But I made up my mind that I was going to be successful.  I knew I could do it.  Yes I had bad days.  My husband dropped dead 3 months after my surgery and now I live alone.  But life goes on and so am I.  I agree with someone else who said you may need to seek a therapist.  It sounds like there may be more going on then just buyer's remorse.  Hang in there, I promise it does get better.  I can now tie my shoes, wrap a bath towel around me, take a walk, etc.  Gook luck.  I wish you the best.

Hello Sherrie, Well first I have to say that I have heard of quite a few people who have had some depression, after surgery. You should check with your doctor about maybe an antidepressent. I have taken one for many years, so
after surgery I am happy. I don't understand , are you mourning food?

I wanted this surgery sooooo bad that I was unhappy before surgery. Yes, some days are harder than others, but you are going to lose weight, be able to walk around outside , buy new clothes. Focus on something positive.
I hope you get to feeling better.

Sherrie---oh my goodness---please call Dr. Houston's office and talk to them about your concerns. It is very normal to have psychological/emotional changes after ANY surgery, and this one is no different.

We all drop our weight at different rates, but, in the end, you will succeed....just follow the plan (as best you can right now---you are only three weeks out!).

I would suggest going to one of the psych-lead support groups at Centennial---

You are going to be okay....just hang in there.  xo, Micheala.
