SLEEVE QUESTIONS
I had the sleeve done, and have had a wonderful experience all around. The best thing you can do for her is just be there. I hope she has done her research about what she will (and won't) need to take to the hospital. It varies for a lot of people. The most important thing is a small pillow to hold against her tummy on the ride home. I didn't need to take anything to read or listen to, because I slept most of the time. I was up walking the halls about an hour after I returned to my room. We did the leak test early the next morning, and I was on my home before lunchtime. She should do as others have advised - sip and walk, sip and walk - and rest thoroughly - don't pu**** I didn't worry about protein amounts or anything like that for the first couple of weeks - just resting and staying hydrated. I hope she has as great an experience as I did!
Hey there, I have a sleeve (it's part of the DS) and I really really like the restriction. The only advice i have is listen to your stomach. Sometimes I know I am full but my brain wants more and there is nothing worse than overeating and feeling so crappy. When and where is her surgery, please let her know she will be in my thoughts and prayers.
