Need some support!
Everyone's pre-op diet is different. Dr Lynch at Baptist had one week of 2 protein drinks and some sort of low cal low carb frozen dinner. The 2nd week was 4 protein drinks each day.
It was difficult, but you will get through it. Maybe there is a better choice in protein drinks. I used the Myoplex Lite also made by EAS, but I liked them.
A few more things... please do NOT think about chewing any thing up and spitting it out as that could be turned into something bad.
Don't forget that just because you are changing a huge thing in your life, it is not ending. Your current view on food does, but you will find that you will like differnt things and wonder how you ever ate the things that you did before. I could NEVER see myself drinking another soda!
Also, you are tired because you are "de-carbing" your body, it will get better after the first few days. Just give it some time, before you know it, it will be surgery day.
Good luck it will generally get easier from here.
Michael.
I bought only one case of the chocolate EAS, I may run to walmart and get a small pack of another and see if that helps. Sorry for talking about the Pizza thing.. last night was a really bad night. I am not thinking about that anymore.
If my cravings get to bad I go lay down for a little bit till my stomach stops growling. Thanks for all your imput it means alot!!
Later you will find things that taste like those things you enjoy so much, and even at times perhaps may get to enjoy a little bit of the "real thing"...
Hang in there. Don't give in to the temptation to say goodbye (aka Last Supper Syndrome) to all your faves...
Just remember right now you are doing this on will power and you can get caught up on "I'll never eat that ever again". The truth is there are a lot of things you will be able to eat again but you probably will choose not too.
Until you go through it you can't understand how your taste dramatically changes.
Vandy encouraged us to use broth or bullion to combat the headaches that usually follow day 3 and can last a few days. Also certian hot teas can help calm your stomach.
Try to keep your eye on your goal, I know easier said then done.
We can all sympathize with you we've been there done that.

P.S. hats off to your hubby the support I received from my wife really helped.
Getting ready for the DS on the 24th with Dr. Houston. Maybe we can walk the halls together. I am a revision from lap band. When I prepared for lap band, the low calorie (10 calories) jello cups gave a sense of having some substance to what I was eating. Also, the warm teas and clear soups gave me some taste.
You can do it. Honestly, your taste cravings do change. Best wishes! See you after surgery!

I really believe that a two week liquid diet is the most difficult part of this entire journey.....I only had to do two days & it was hard....(I know...boo hoo, right...you have it so much tougher!!)....but, you are coming off of carbs right now & that is so hard on your body....so, let yourself sleep....you can probably expect headaches next if you are also coming off of caffeine, but, the good news is, you won't have that post-surgery because you will have already de-toxed....
I am so sorry this is tough for you....but you can do it. You have a list of things you can have & lean on those as much as you can. You will feel terrible for a while....you don't have your "tool" of the surgery yet, so this is really a test for you, but you will pass it!
Don't chew & spit....you are just replacing bad food-choice habits with another bad habit....you can do this....cheers to your hubby for supporting you.....if you need to talk to get your mind off of things, PM me & I will give you my phone number....you can call me & vent when it gets bad over the next few weeks! xo, Micheala.
