Need Help......considering revision
Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I've been on here. When I had surgery several years ago I had a RNY. I did ok. Went from about 500 pounds down to 265-285. Then I got pregnant and had my little girl almost 2 years ago. I gained about 100 or so pounds during and after having her. I was so afraid that she would not get the nutrition that she needed plus I was hungry all the time during the pregnancy. So I ate more. And after having her I ate and ate and ate some more. I was still hungry. I'm probably around 400 pounds now or close to it.
I need to be here for my daughter and be able to play with her and do things with her. And right now it's getting so hard to do. I'm considering having a Revision done. But I'm not sure where to start.
The doctor I had is no longer working in Tennessee. Not sure where she went. So I'll need to find a new doctor. I have BCBS of TN (PPO) and also TNCARE Amerigroup.
Can anyone help me out? I'm not sure what I need to do or who will take my insurance or even if it will pay for a revision. Any help or information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Julie

I'm not sure about your insurance, but Centennial will help you get the information you need.
Dr. Houston is doing a revision from lapband to the DS on someone on this board I think Aug 24. He would be who I would talk to. He's a great surgeon.
If you don't know about the DS, then read all about it on the ds board.

I agree with Ronda. Check with Centennial and Dr. Houston and if you want check out the DS board, even if you just lurk and read. It was very informative to me and taught me alot about the DS and helped me in making my decision on what surgery to have.

I think there is a DS surgeon at Centennial who takes Amerigroup. I was looking for a DS surgeon in the beginning but I have AmeriChoice. I was told he takes only Amerigroup TennCare. I wish I could remember which surgeon takes it at Centennial. I have forgotten his name. I'm sure if you call the office, they will be able to help you.
I wish you the best.
