I absolutely, positively have NO regrets about having RNY surgery--lots of great research on who I wanted to do my surgery plus a "gut" feeling that it was the right thing to do....and now I am just thrilled I did it. Of course, it's not always easy---post-surgery there will be times when you hurt & can't eat & can't get your protein in, but I NEVER regretted it---there wasn't a moment when I woke up & thought, "What did I do?!?!"--I knew it would have to be tough, but I kept focused on the goal & followed my doctor's orders to a "T" (of course, I still can't eat two eggs in one sitting & there is no way I could eat 3-5oz of protein plus a low carb veggie or two at one time).
Anyway...everyday I am so thankful for this surgery....I loved my life before surgery & felt so lucky to have my husband & three kiddos, but now I feel really lucky to have ME back in our active, happy family!
So, you are in for a WILD rest of the year!!!! This will be such a life changing experience for you...and remember, the first year after surgery is the window in which you need to re-learn how to take care of yourself...don't let it pass you by!
Good luck....I can't wait to see your post-op pictures!! xo, Micheala.
