WOW moments still happen
Even at 3 1/2 years out the WOW moments still happen. Some funny, others not so much. I actually experienced what I believe to be my first negative side effect of losing the weight.
Saturday I was returning from a friend's home in Murfreesboro, had just gotten on the entrance ramp to I24W and my car felt "funny". Pulled over on the shoulder of the ramp to discover a flat tire!! Now folks, I know how to change a tire. I've done it several times in the past for myself and others. All I needed was a 4-way lug wrench so I could stand on the crossbar and break the lugs loose. Saturday I could not break them loose! I tried bouncing on the stupid wrench and the lugs would not budge!!
What to do, what to do? The lovely lime green trucks don't travel outside of Davidson County. Tried calling my friend...voicemail. Hubby is working in Hendersonville - not calling him to come to M'boro. Son working! SIL working! Got in touch with M'boro police dept. - they don't change tires, did I need an officer to come divert traffic while I change the tire? Duh, I had already told the lady I was unable to break the lugs loose.
Finally got in touch with Rutherford County Sheriff's office and they sent a very nice officer to change my tire.
WOW moment? I now do not weigh enough to change a flat tire without help. Is this really a good thing??
Second WOW of the week - this one is funny.
Driving to work Monday morning I was rearended at a red light...wait it does get funny.
The lady who hit me is about early to mid-30s with dark brown hair like me, and slender. We both give our driver licenses to the officer and he goes back to his car. (my license still has my pre-op picture on it - I get a new picture in a few weeks when I turn 55)
A few minutes later I see him with a license in each hand looking back and forth between the licenses and the two of us trying to figure out which license belongs to which person. He finally just called out a name so he could get the right person. LOL
I cannot tell you what this did for my day to even be considered to be near the age of the other lady.
BTW - No one was hurt and cars can be fixed. Her insurance has already come out and done the inspection to get the claim rolling on my car.
So...how has your week been?
