6 Months and Skin update

So yesterday was my 6 month mark, I did not even notice until OH sent me an e-mail reminder. I know now that fat or not life is just not easy, my weight seemed to just keep me around the house more often.

As far as weight, I actually have not weighed... I do not know why, I don't know if I am afraid of the scales and not weighing low enough or the fact that I am waiting for a really bad emotional day to be cheered up just by seeing a lower number.

I did weigh last month and I weighed 450... my starting weight was 670, I average just about 30-40 lbs a month, but this month was a lot less due to two heat related injuries and mandatory rest. I just get excited when I walk lol. I used to take six steps and feel the pain from my back down to my fat swollen ankles, but now I see myself walking more than I should just because I can!

I do have an update, Micheala, if you are still having skin problems, I got my biopsy back and I have Urticaria... or commonly known as hives. I have had them since before surgery, I have tried cutting my protein shakes and I still get them. As of now the cause is unknown, I am leaning towards stress. Chronic urticaria is caused either by auto-immune, spider bites, insect bites and stress or LIFE CHANGING events such as divorce or I guess losing 200 plus pounds.

My biggest thing now is preparing to go back to college, I got hospitalized three years ago in the middle of my first semester and I have been working like crazy to be just physically and half way financially prepared for the university life. Wish me luck!

All in all, I am glad I had my RNY, I hope I touched a few people with my news story and the things I am trying to set in motion for the obesity epidemic.
I do not ever think I will be in Onederland... my frame is built for a more 230, 250 kind of guy, but I would love to be in Twonderland, threederland sounds like my current goal. I haven't seen a scale weigh me in a doc's office since I was in middle school!

So... six months out, I am a little lighter, slightly happier and a lot healthier! I've only lost 200 or so pounds but hey! I am working hard, hope everyone is doing good!

Only 200 or so lbs? That's awesome, you've lost more than I weight right now. Your weightloss makes my 92 lbs. since surgery look like nothing. Keep up the great job Justin, you've done great! I know it's been challenging for me, it's had to be way tougher for you. Keep your chin up, you'll be in threederland or twonderland before you know it, it'll just probably get a little tougher from here on out. So do what you know you need to do and let us all know when you need help and support, cause we're all here to help one another.

Hey Justin!! Good to see a post from you!!!  You are doing so awesome!! 200 pounds....sheesh!! Amazing!!!  And...you will be to "Twoterville" before you know it!!  And, if that's the healthy place for your body to be....perfect!

I am glad you updated me on the skin issue---I found out mine was contact dermatitis....went away with a round of steriods......I am guessing that losing 200 pounds qualifies as a "life changing event"!  Hopefully it will stay under control.

We really enjoyed your news story....I just fell in love w/your mom--such a sweetie!  She just adores you.....keep your chin up & think positive....I want to hear that you are done with college & putting on that graduation gown to get your degree!  Keep looking forward & focusing on your goals...you are amazing & you can do whatever you set your mind to!

xo, Micheala.
