OT - HUGE pet peeve of mine!

My pet peeve is when I am typing away and realize that it's on ALL CAPS!  I don't type in caps as its considered yelling, so then I have to erase and start over!!

I also don't like it when my fingers don't cooperate with my brain.  I type about 90-100 wpm and am very accurate the majority of the time.  But, if my fingers are cold or I am tired, it seems that the words turn into a jumbled mess and it looks like I am dyslexic.

I'm usually hardest on my own text and don't pay much attention to others.

Even though I was just being a smart azz on my earlier post.
I'm the first to admit my sentence structure might leave you laughing and really I don't care hey if I can di**** out I can take.
But I will say this when you post something like this it cause separation.  What I mean by that I know several people that have limited education and very limited computer skills.  These same people are intimidated to get on these boards to ask questions because they are afraid that people will ridicule them.  By posting something like this it reinforces their fear.  Just remember some people that have been over weight for most of their lives don't have a lot of self confidence.  I'm really not trying to stir up crap and I'm not trying to upset anyone, but let's try and be sensitive to everyone. Bob--well said.  We all come from different backgrounds, both social and educational, however, the common thread with us all is that we all share in our struggles to overcome obesity...that is what keeps us together on this board.

Frankly, I enjoy popping onto this board to read about the different paths that people have taken (and are taking) to improve their health & well-being and I hope everyone will feel free to type away!

Luv ya Bob... Good job!  I figure if I can figure out what it says, then a few mispellings are easy to overlook.  In addition to what Bob has so kindly pointed out, many people don't live in cities with support groups that are easy to attend.  This forum may be their main source of support.   A little tolerance goes a long way.

Note:  bad grammar and poor spelling may be annoying.  However, they are not really dangerous.  Therefore, I do reserve the right to jump on someone's case if they come here with a problem then proceed to openly reject advice about proper nutrition, hydration, and supplements.

Who cares? If it bothers someone that bad, don't read my misspelled
posts.  I don't care!!! This is a support board not grammer class.

Michael....you misspelled "a lot"...it is actually two words and, in your post, you spelled it "allot".  This is incorrect.  For your information, a lot (two words) is an informal phrase meaning "many".  It can take an adjective form, for example, "a sizeable lot".  I believe that is what you intended in your post (i.e. "Michael needed a lot of work on his grammar").

"Allot" means "to distribute between or among"--it has the same root as "lottery" (i.e. Michael alloted too much time to throwing stones at other's glass houses instead of his own).  Furthermore, and for future reference, "alot" does not exist as a word (just in case you want to use that word incorrectly when you are venting next time...;).......)....

Hey...wait....I think I just found MY pet peeve......

....:)....xo, Micheala.

"What frustrates me is they are used incorrectly all the time!"

What frustrates me is hyperbole!  No, they are not used incorrectly all the time.

I know I get on the boards  when I am in a hurry and don't check my posts before I sent them.  AFTER I post it I realize that it is not correct and I can't fix it.  That has happened to me many times.   I just get in a hurry.   As a matter of fact, people probably think I am really dumb when that happens. I don't really care, because they don't really know me anyway.  Its kind of like the perception that all fat people are lazy and don't want to take care of themselves.  It's just a perception, not necessarily the facts.    I have an IQ of 136.   It's not the best in the world, but adequate and it is more than room temperature.  I think I can work with that.

I am horrible at grammar and spelling, but great at literature, history, compliance and legislative issues.  I guess that is what makes the world go round.

I don't take offense to your post about grammar.  We all have our weaknesses and things that get under our skin.  I just want to say that these boards are just for friends to communicate.  It's kind of like jotting down a quick note.   It's not an essay contest.

Now that you have brought it to my attention.  I will try to be more careful, but If I mess up.........Oh, well.......

The only reason that I posted was just to vent... I was not trying to "piss" anyone off.

You didn't **** me off.  I enjoy your posts.  I am one who thinks we can all voice our opinions without the other getting mad.

PS.  I am laughing now because I looked at my reply post and it did have many mistakes in it.  It is typical of me.  I wish I had the gift of good written communication.  It would have been a plus for me.

If we couldn't say what we thought, it wouldn't be much fun anyway would it?

Keep posting .......I like you.
