I live in nashville but my mom stayed by the airport when i had my surgery.  It is about 12 miles to the hospital and it was fairly cheap. Welcome to the Houston DS family

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery with Dr. Houston.  I am a lap band patient of his, but have a consult with him next week for a revision to possibly DS.

Centennial is near downtown Nashville in the hospital and university zone.  The hotels there are probably a bit expensive.  I live in Brentwood, which is about 15 minutes south of downtown in a safe and upscale area.  I know that there is an Extended Stay America hotel in Brentwood that should have reasonable rates.  The Extended Stay on West End would be the closest to the hospital, but it would run a bit more.

My surgery is not till August, but a dear friend of mine is in Centenial for cervical cancer. We have found that hotels around the hospital jump up on prices on the weekends and  if special events are going on. You may want to try booking through an online hotel finder.

There are 5 big medical centers in the area. Many hotels give discounts for those who are in town for pre- or post-hospitlaization.  ASK!  If they say no, well, at least you asked.  Of course all bets may be off for Vanderbilt home games.  Surely you'll be there before football season begins, eh?
