First Fill
I am a bandster!!! Please feel free to contact me via PM with your phone numbers and I'll be happy to call and be your bandster buddy.
The fills are NOT bad!!!! I've had four since December and each one was an initial ***** then pressure and then that was it. I've only had one that left a bruise, and that was because my port was in a slightly "off" position and he had to reposition his needle.
Good Luck today and please again know if you need anything even just to talk, please let me know!!

Let us know how it goes! Like Amy, I'm a Vandy-Bandster too, and am due for my 3rd fill a week from today.
After my 2nd fill I had a few stuck episodes. Yay, in that I at least know for sure he put a band in there!
I am getting better with being less hungry (like food stays with me longer now--I won't be ravenous after an hour), but I can still eat more than a cup of food at a single setting. So I'm hoping my next fill will help limit how much I can eat. They say it takes 3-4 or more fills to hit that sweet spot.
I also videotaped my last fill (it was done under fluoroscopy--waay cool) so if you wanna see it, click here.
Amy's right--there's a bit of pain when the needle first goes in, but from there on it's just lots of pressure and an odd popping sensation when they hit the port. But it's not bad at all! And it's over before you know it.
I saw my nut on Monday and am down 22% of my EWL since surgery, about 13 weeks! She said that's a average weight loss for a bandster. Of course the harder you work, the more you get out of it. Just look at Amy--she's an INCREDIBLE role model, so if you stick with her as a friend, you won't go wrong!!!
Let us know how it went and how you feel after!
