I have to work today (July 3rd****il 3pm, but fortunately I have the weekend off. Does anyone have any exciting plans for the 4th?

Also, does anyone have a favorite "summer picnic" recipe to share for those of us that may be 'cooking up' something tomorrow?

Even after surgery, one thing I have always enjoyed is grilling out. Any type of protein tastes great when cooked on the grill. :-)

I bet you are excited about your surgery. I am a little over 2 months out.

I'm working today... it is so slow here though, my department should have been closed, but oh well.

Anything grilled is good.

Go to bariatriceating.com and check out the recipes and you may find something in there that you can make as a "side"

Sorry to hear you had to work also. I get off at 3pm, so only a few hours left!

I am such a nerd... I have an Xbox 360 and bought two new games for it - Ghostbusters and Lego Batman. If I don't end up going swimming later, I may stay home and play some video games.

Decisions, decisions...

I don't get off till 530pm, so i still have some time left... oh well.

I will just be going home and watching movies this weekend.  I may go to a couple of riends house's tomorrow, but still not sure.

I was really sick last night, so I think that I may want to stay home...(see my coming post)

Hubs and I have a 3 day weekend off together... and considering I work for a place thats open 24/7, this is a rarity for us!

We went to the farmers market this morning and then I got a raging headache so I had to take a nap.  tonight, we are going to the Hendersonville fireworks.   Tomorrow, we are heading out to go canoeing on the Harpeth River!   This is a first for us and was one of my "things to do when I lose weight" goals.  If we don't a.)  kill our selves or b.) make fools of ourselves, we may try to organize one later in the summer!  I think that would be a fun group activity!!!

I would love to go to the Nashville fireworks tomorrow, but even my most outgoing and adventurous friends have said "never again" will they go and brave the crowds so tomorrow we will probably just grill out at home?  anyone bored?  lol.

For the last picnic we had, I made fauxtato salad and it rocked.  Just make your potato salad the same way you did pre-op but instead use cauliflower.  It was super yummy.   I will also be doing a tomato and mozzarella and basil salad.  yummo.

Missy, we're coming to your house for a cookout!  LOL

Today we'll do some cleaning.  Tim is going to do yardwork in the front yard.  I am going to clean the house.  OR I could switch with him, let him clean house and I could do yardwork.  But something tells me that I'm not going to let that happen!!  LOL

i thought about going to Goodwill store today for their half off sale. I wonder if they are open?

Movies, movies, movies - we're going to see Taking of Pelham 123 and taking our 19 year old to see Ice Age (well, really my husband and I are the ones that want to see it the most!) I agree everything tastes better on the grill, we picked up some beautiful salmon steaks yesterday to cook tonight. Oh, we just bought Dynasty Warriors 6 for our 19 year old - there was a hostile takeover of the TV!

Hope everyone has a great relaxing celebration of the 4th!
