Got really sick - not sure what it was

All,

last night I got really ill.  Vomit and the other end as well...

I don't know what it was that caused it.  Might have been the pudding that I ate, but I'm always really careful about how much whipped cream I put on top, but that was earlier in the evening, and I started to not feel really good till about 1am.

Why is that when something does not agree with you it is not only about 2 hours after dinner, but in the middle of the night??!!

I ate dinner about 6pm, and fell like crap at 1am.

My stomach hurt and I woke up about 1am laying on my stomach.  Thought that i had to go to the restroom.  Went in and still could not get rid of the nauseua.  Sometime when I'm not feeling well, I will take a hot shower, this time it only made it worse.  I vomited (well not really, just a bunch of mucus).  Then it all came out, from the back side.

I had hot flashes then cold flashes.  I know that it was cool last night, but I had the air up to 79 degrees, and had to turn off my ceiling fans because I was cold.  I drug my blanket and alarm clock into the living room to sleep on my chair because it was more comfy then to lay flat in my bed.  I made several more trips to the bathroom, and finally went to sleep all curled up on my chair about 3am.

About 4am, I woke up and went back into my bedroom and went back to sleep.  Felt ok this morning, but was not happy to come into work, with nothing to do, and missing about 3 hours of sleep.

Not sure what it was, but I decided to stick with a liquid diet today to let my stomach settle.

YUCK!!

Really sounds like food poisoning--esp the hot and cold flashes...Erika

That does sound awful! It reminds me when I ate those grilled chicken strips from Jack in the Box. The next morning, I woke up with severe diaherrea, nausea and cramping. I will never be getting those again!

The liquid diet sounds like a good idea. You have probably flushed everything from your system already so now its just a matter of giving your pouch a rest...

Michael, are you sure that the pudding you used was sugar free?  The packaging is so very tricky sometimes...  you might have inadvertently picked up a pack that wasn't sugar free...  but also, chocolate products have something in them that can sometimes make me feel bad.  I don't know if its in the sweetener, in the cocoa, I don't know.  Once I got really sick from about 2 tblsp of Breyers low carb chocolate...  and another time it was some Big Train low carb iced mocha.  Yeah, being sick sucks!

Yep I knew for sure that it was sugar free as it was one of the single serving that you make with 1/2 cup milk.

Thanks for the thoughts...  I felt much better later friday afternoon and was able to eat a normal dinner.

My only concern was making sure that I had plenty of fluids... I did.
