sudden weight loss

First off, sorry for not posting over the past week. Work has been kicking me in the butt and I have been out enjoying life and the summer heat!

So my weight loss has stalled over the past 2 weeks hovering at the same exact weight. Then, this morning I get on the scale and it said I lost 4 lbs overnight. Does that seem a bit odd? I was so shocked by it that I am waiting until tomorrow to weigh again and see if it was some fluke. I don't want to get excited because it happened so suddenly.

Anyone ever had this experience?

I hope you all are doing well and enjoying the weekend!

Hi Steve,
Our surgeries are a week apart and this past week I have been experiencing a stall as well. I'm not sure of an answer for you but I hope that I wake up and see that I've lost 4 lbs overnight (lol).  I thought the only stall in the beginning was at 3 weeks, and this past week was my 8th week, so I am very interested in the answers you'll receive.  Take care and keep up the good work!

Thanks Regina. Same to you! I'll post again tomorrow to see if the weight loss stuck or not. I'm still in denial that I could lose 4 lbs in a day. It has to be water weight!

Yep, pretty common thing. That happened to me 3 or 4 times over the first 8 or 9 months.

I second what Bob said, I've had periods where I've lost 4 or 5 pounds over 1 to 3 days.

I agree with the other guys.
If you hit a stall and your doing everything correctly then you might want to increase your protein.
During this journey from time to time your body will get use to the new weight, so it will tend to go into starvation.  By increasing the protein your body thinks the protein is coming from a increase in food.
This should get you loosing again. Good Luck C'ya

Update... looks like the weight loss wasn't a fluke. I checked again today and it actually went down 1 additonal LB - meaning I lost 5 lbs total between friday and monday.

I guess I was in the stall the prior week and my body is finally giving up some of the excess pounds. I'm thrilled....

Thanks for the responses and I'm glad to know that most of us have experienced this at some point in our journeys.

Wishing everyone similar success and continued good health...

Yep sounds normal.

I went through the same thing many times.
I just kept getting told that I'm just like everyone else, it will go in spurts.

Just keep up with making sure that you are doing the right things.
