CASTING DIRECTOR 4 The Biggest Loser Tells All
EXACTLY! Like, even the playing field... I got to thinking later... how would that be fair? And came up with the same conclusion... that if they had a show of folks who had massive regain after wls... or who never met their goal anyway, but they should be at least 18 mos out from surgery... whatchya think? Me thinks we just came up with a good and brilliant marketing ploy for TBL
gosh we should go into marketing.

Go get 'em, Mel!!

Hi Holly!
See my comments above about where I would put my concerns, regarding fairness, etc.
It appears you're in your first year, post-op. How are you finding the journey? Are you as physically active as you can be? One thing participants seem to get from the show:
the realization that they have a lot more strength, stamina & agility available to them at any weight than they imagined; and that's a good thing!

Ron, on the last season of TBL had Gastric Bypass i think like 10-15 years ago. I think he was the first one on the show that had previously had WLS.

You bring out some very good points... And I do have a few more observations and questions because, I am curious... IF a new postop were to go on the show, would they be provided protein supplements, and have foods prepared for them that are beneficial to them as a wls patient? I'm not talking brown rice, wheat pasta and low carb bread. I'm talking living the bariatric lifestyle as they should be, protein drinks, protein first, moderate carbs second, doing all they can on their "proper diet" ? That always made me wonder about how the last WLS patient on the show ate...? Of course, someone 6 or 9 months out from surgery is still going to have lots of dietary requirements and restrictions.
I would wonder too. Actually,it would make for an interesting series... what the other contestants would say or do when they see how much a wls patient can eat. Hey, if I sat down with a wls patient and saw them eat 4 ounces, and they were losing a ton of weight (more than me perhaps), I would say "What the heck? No wonder this person is losing so fast. They eat the amount of food you can put in the palm of your hand!!"
Now I would be very interested to see a show of wls contestants. But again, I would hope that they would have someone trained in bariatric nutrition because it is different than the average person.....
