Did you have the lapband or some type of gastric surgery. If you had rny or sleeve or anything like that you still have a lot of anaesthesia in your body. I had peope jumping all over for me for doing just about anything but walking. 3 weeks out you should be taking it easy. Do slow and light now, and work your way up. The energy will come back! You won't know what to do with yourself next month.

I had rny surgery and I was very tired and slow in the beginning.  I did go back to work 2 weeks out but I was VERY tired.  I took naps and rested alot during the first month.  You will feel so much better after you get through the first month.  It gets better everyday.  You will be doing cartwheels before you know it.

I'm 3 weeks out from DS and wow you are mowing and weed eating. Are you push mowing? I can't do that for along time, but I do get a bit
more energy everyday. Although this heat just ZAPS me. It's probably
the heat that is making you want to pass out. Anyhoo sounds like you
are doing great!

I am almost 7 weeks out and I started getting some of my energy back about a month out. No much mind you but more then I had before. There are some days like today were I just want to go back to bed, even though I slept fairly well last night. It will come back, just take things slow and steady.

It varies by person but mine took about 4 weeks to return to some sense of normalcy. In fact, if you are getting your vitamins, water, and protein in every day, you will find that you have MORE energy as the weeks progress. Having less weight to carry around also helps of course. :-)

totally normal.  and good on you for getting your protein.  I didn't get all of mine in until probably 2.5 months.  Was a ugly struggle for me.

I started feeling normal again around 6 weeks or so.

Just wondering, did you have open or laproscopic RNY? But I had naseua and was still very week at 3 weeks. With the work you say you do, I'm sure it's a good idea to take that long off work. Just push your self to do a little more activity each day, within what your surgeon has OK'd you to do and the low energy will get better, your body is healing and it takes time. Just make sure you are getting or working towards the diet you've been instructed to follow, get your protein and water in, they are very important. Some days it may be more of a struggle than others. But everyday will get a little easier. For me it too****il just past 3 months to start to feel normal again, it's much better now than even at 3 months.

Good luck, it's no easy journey.
