6 month check up weight and mental.. (& support group)

OK..  so I didn't get to see the nutritionist, I got a call that said she had an emergency and I had to reschedule, BUT..   I did see the clinic's social worker.  I am still worried about my mental health.   It was GREAT to talk to him!   One thing that came out, was how people don't ask, "How are you?" when they see me, they ask, "How much weight have you lost?"  And rather than a mental breakdown, which I have an appt with a psychiatrist on June 22, the social worker is leaning toward just an identity crisis?   who knows?

Then I had my 6 month check up, I've officially lost 62 pounds since surgery!  I did get another cc, and it was under the scope, but when I went to grab my flip...  I hadn't put it in my purse!  UGH..  so Denise the video is up to you now!!

All is well with my band, and all will be well with my mental state!!  Thank you all for listening to my worried ramblings!!!

OOOOOH..  and what a GREAT support group tonight, thank you Pam and Dr. Olsen!!!

Amy, How are you?  (<----I am now going to make an effort to ask someone how they are first before I mention what they look like. I guess I am guilty of that....and I notice that people do that to me now, too....so, thanks for bringing that up....good point!).

So...now that I've asked....62 pounds is so fan-tabulous!!!  Way to go, girl!  And, you can ramble to me (or PM me if you are having a really tough time & just need to vent) anytime....xo, Micheala.

Oooh, it was a great meeting tonight, wasn't it?  I learned quite a bit and it was good to see you as well as the others I'm getting to know there.

The identity crisis idea is very interesting.  Just who or what will I become when I can no longer say "I am so fat!"?  It really has consumed my thoughts for so long.  Thank God for mental health professionals!

Yes Amy,

I too had a GREAT time last nite at the meeting with Dr. O and Pam.  It really was very informative.  You seem to never have enough information.  I still learn new things EVERY day.  62 pounds is fantastic.  Can't wait to kickbox the rest off of you.

And just like Michalea said...you can ramble to me anytime.  Keep us posted.  Maybe it it the vitamins like Dr. O said and that will be an easy fix. (I will keep my fingers crossed for you)

Have a Great Day...

Hey girls,  It was so nice to see you at the meeting!  Rhonda, I am reminding you to add me to your friends! Everyone has done so well and was such a inspiration , I can't wait to hear if I am approved or not. Haven't heard anything yet, 2 weeks today it has been at insurance company. It has been 2 1/2 years trying, so maybe approval this time!!   ~shell

Isn't that new, FREE social worker great?!?  I haven't used him yet, but Jessica told me about him at the May band group.  SUPER COOL!  I'm sure I'll be gracing his doorstep at some point, so I'm glad he's there.

62 pounds since surgery--you are doing fabulously!  And even though you are going through a rough spell emotionally, know that you are a shining light for so many of us here with your happy attitude and motivating challenges each month.  Understand that we know you are more than your weight (or weight loss).  You are cherished here, dear Amy!

I'm sooooooooo sad you didn't get the video!    Now I have to wait until next week to see it, but at least I'll get to see it firsthand!  I'm going to get up and put my iFlip in my purse NOW and add some extra batteries to boot.

Is anybody working on that teleporter?  Sounds like you guys had a great support meeting out your way!  I wish I could have been there!  We had a good meeting last night, too, though it was a small group.  First time in my experience that we had two post ops!  Woo hooo!  Next month I am going to bring extras, like packets of samples that I have leftover (crystal light, Carnation instant b'fast, etc.)  Might as well be able to share that stuff with new people than let it go to waste.

Okay, gotta run to work.  I want to get in, do my thing, leave for the gym by 5:30, then get home to assemble my unscooter!!!!  Now I just have to find some level ground to use it on!  Hmm.  And I gotta buy a helmet, too!  Dang!  So much to do.  This work thing is really getting in the way of my exciting workouts!

HUGS!!!
