One Co-morbid Gone

For about a week or so, I have been so dizzy.  Inner ear problem?  Dehydration despite all the fluids?  My inner hypochondriac has been working overtime.  Then I get the brilliant idea to check my blood pressure as all good hypochondriacs have the thingy to do it it at home.  It is way low.  So low that my family doc took me off my medication.  Could that CPAP machine be the next to go?

Sorry.  The only skin issues I have are the ones developing on my belly, thighs, and upper arm meat curtains.  They're starting to look really feaky now that I don't have all that fat filling them out.
Why do you want to ask an obesity doctor?  Do you or your other docs think it may be related to your weight?  Anyway, I Hope you get the answers you need.

Meat curtains!     You are spending too much time over on the naughty girl board!!!!  You're picking up their lingo, though I think the context is a little off!

A staple gun will work wonders on those floppy arms!

Seriously, though, congratulations on the BP meds.  You'll be tossing the CPAP machine out the window before you know it!  Just look before you throw, so no one gets conked in the head.

Apparently, neck fat is a huge thing when it comes to sleep apnea.  I had no idea!  I thought it was floppy tissues, but I guess maybe fat neck on outside is sign of flabby tissues inside.  The nurse practitioner I saw at the allergy clinic guessed that I was probably "cured," of sleep apnea because my neck looked quite thin. ???  Quite thin might be pushing it some, but I enjoyed the compliment, as did my floppy chicken wattle.

I'm sure losing the BP meds are just one in many accomplishments coming your way!

WOO HOOO!

Denise:  Yea the naughty board is entertaining.  I'm not beneath changing the context if I like a phrase.   It's easy to talk about jeans getting baggy, but you know you're losing weight when you can start wearing a favorite necklace again.  Turkey wattle. Muffin top.  Meat curtains.  We are what we eat.

I'm not sure, but I think I may be able to donate that CPAP to a DME company for someone who can't afford one.  I'll check into it.  If not...DUCK!

They do have some great catch phrases.  Anything ending in "waffle," sends me into gales of laughter!

So what's a DME company (like durable medical equipment or something?)  That's a great idea, actually.  Obviously the tubing and masks are of no use (eeew, icky!), but the device itself should be donate-able.  Okay, eew.  I can't remember if the mask I used in my sleep study was new or used.  Or the tubing.  Eeew.  Germs!

I packed my CPAP up to take it with me for surgery (they make you at least bring it even if you don't use it) and it's been sitting on the arm of the couch ever since.  I've logged about 100 hours on it in 6 years.  I could go to bed in a nightshirt, wearing braces on both arms for carpal tunnel AND my cpap mask and wake up in the morning, totally naked.

So if someone could get some use out of it, that would be a good thing.  Keep me posted if you find out anything.  Or I'm sure I could waste at least half an hour at work tomorrow looking up Selling Used CPAPs on the internet.

My insurance did a rent-to-own deal.  When I got it all paid off, the Durable Medical Equipment  (DME) company swapped out the rental for a brand new machine.  So you're right... A new hose and mask would be all they need.  I'm glad my insurance paid for part of it.  I think the list price was over $1,000!

Hi K9,

Okay, so I just want to remind you first and foremost how crazy I am about you….. I know, I know you are gonna follow up with some statement like “Well, Trina if you really felt that way you would let me know…. Well sunshine, I been trying…. I enjoy your post more than you could possibly know….

You are the wind beneath my wings, my everything.. On and on till the end of that cozy 70’s mix cassette tape runs out but, there is something in your humor that I see in myself and frankly it scares me.

There is a popular male poster on the forum that always has a disclaimer that he is not a doctor and does not play one on TV. But K9,to tell you the truth, The thought of playing a doctor on TV does intrigue me and I would like to know where to sign up..

I think the world of this gentleman and he knows it.

Sweetie, back to your original post and thank you for humoring me…. I am not sure about your dizziness or inner ear situation. I know that many Nutritionist do have on going studies about allergic reactions to some foods.

This is another added bonus to the new way of life during our Honey Moon Phase….  What do you think?

You have my sense of humor?  Trina, now you're scaring me!  I like your posts, too.  I don't know why it's taken me this long to tell you how much I appreciate your presence on the forum.  We have a great bunch here in TN.  Thanks for your kind words.
