Protein party at Centennial support group Tuesday @ 6
The ABB grape was really good. I had never tried that before, and I liked it. I plan on checking out the other flavors soon... now the other, I cannot remember the brand, but it was like a fruit or cherry flavor... not so much. BAD aftertaste. But, you can always find a way to get rid of bad protein... stick it in some sf jello!
I also liked the Oikos yogurt with the Walden Farms strawberry topping in it but I'll still stick to my Kroger Carbmasters! It's much cheaper!

Melinda, the one I think everyone thought had a bad taste is the brand protein blitz, it had a horrible aftertaste - on the flip side, I think everyone who tried it loved the lean body bananas & creme. It was great to see you!

The minute I saw the protein blitz, I knew I did not like it because I had sampled it before... I RE-tried anyway because, our tastes change so much. Maybe, just maybe, I was having an off day. But nope! I still did not like it... If I remember correctly, I tried two of their flavors and both had that bitey aftertaste. The ABB did not produce that result at all and really tasted like a grape Kool Aid. It would be great frozen as popsicles or in shaved ice, or put in jello in lieue of water.
I also wanted to add that to my recollection, that was the first time I have met Kathy Hungerford. She seems like a very sweet lady, and I enjoyed our discussion together. It's funny how you "know" things, yet it takes someone else saying it in a way that makes sense for you to really "get it"... but Kathy said something as she was looking at my before/after pictures. There was one of me weighing 116 lbs, my thinnest. She said that was definitely during the skeletal stage, and that it is a very normal look when people have lost so much weight... we were talking about how my weight has repositioned around the 18 month mark... I realized that what I have been thinking was weight gain or some type of loose skin or fatty pockets that didn't appear to be there even after plastics, its really just the way my body weight has reshifted and adjusted. That really affirmed me and made me be able to sigh a breath of relief... to know that its not anything I have done to cause that little fatty pocket on my left side... the thing that causes me so much distress... it was just the natural settling and scheme of things. Now while that might sound quite simple and elementary, I guess it just made sense to me for the first time... to actually have someone explain it and affirm it. I'm glad I went to the meeting Tuesday evening. It was also nice to hear the stories of how peoples' lives have changed since wls. One lady said it best, "I thank God every day..." and I kind of felt like I do when I go to church service, and the preacher preaches, it causes a thankfulness to well up inside and gets me all mushy and teary eyed to know just how far I have come. I too am thankful every single day for my new life.
Melinda, thank you for your kind words. We love Kathy Hungerford! She has that unique way of pointing out so many of the things we take for granted. I love hearing others stories as it always reminds me that I am not the only one with the same struggles.
