 Ha!  You don't think I let you off the hook that easily, did you??  I just never had an opportunity to post the ol' exercise thread yesterday.

Here's what I did yesterday:

::  20' walk to work
::  20' elliptical machine
::  upper body machines (chest press, lat pulldown, rear deltoid row)
::  leg and hip stretches for bursitis
::  total step count on pedometer:  10,096

I'm still trying to figure out what to do today.  I know I'll be walking to lunch and walking to meet a friend for dinner on West End.  My knees joints are a bit inflamed, but it only bothers me when I get up and down out of chairs.  To work out or not work out?  To rest or not rest?  Sigh.  Decisions, decisions.

Either way, I'll post my activity here later in the day.

Here's today's activity (so far):
::  20 minute walk to hospital
::  25 minute walk on treadmill
::  lower body machines
::  leg and hip stretches plus 3 sets of 20@ clamshells with the gray band

I also plan to walk to Jason's Deli for lunch and walk to meet a friend for dinner

What have you done to be active today?

NEXT?

Hi Denise,

It is always so good to read your posts. You are always uplifting, encouraging and well just a real gem.. We are so lucky to have you…

Have you ever considered a creative writing vocation?

Okay so I have been walking like crazy… Don’t know how many steps cause I still can’t find my pedometer.. Bob L. says I should really check into that talking version of the pedometer so it can tell me where I laid it down last..

 Trina, you are SO SWEET!!!

Actually writing is what I was put here for.  I just have not been doing it.  The boards are helping me reconnect with that aspect of my life.  Surprising, huh?  Come here for one reason (get wls support) and discover so many other gifts (friends, laughter, reconnecting with hopeful talent) while here!

As for your pedometer issues, maybe we can raise some money and buy you an EZ Finder

Photobucket

It comes with several extra thinges--you can use one for keys, one for your pedometer and one for your head, should you misplace that!  Just wear them like earrings!!!

JUST KIDDING!!!

Good to see you here and keep up that walking!!!
HUGS!!!

Okay....Thursday:  Walked 1.8 miles & biked 1 mile.....then I did three sets of 60 ab crunches, 20 minutes of arms w/weights & glutes & hamstrings & quads...

Today/Friday.....We took a family trip to the park where they have a 3 mile long bike trail.  Tim & I rode our mountain bikes & the kids rode their bikes....then, Tim played at the park w/the kiddos & I did the 3 mile loop four times (12 miles) at a fast pace.....

Now, I am heading to take the kiddos to the Discovery Center where we will do the 1 mile hike in the wetland area.....

I am committed to making sure of two things:  First, my kids never have to face the uphill weight battle (well, uphill until WLS!!!!) I have and, second, that they all crash out early tonight so I can have a few hours to write.....lol!!! Muahhhh.....I have a secret plan!

NEXT.........................

 You guys are toooooo cute!  I'm just picturing the family bike trip--did you take pictures?!?!

I'm really impressed, Micheala!  Today I hit the treadmill and just going slowly (2.5 mph with a 2% incline) got me sweating.  I'm just trying to get used to the equipment right now--they're freaky and when you do the low intensity weight setting the machine tweaks things.  Like I set it to get me in my target heart rate at a speed of 2.5 mph and all of a sudden the thing starts to raise to the sky, like a rocket readying for liftoff!  YIKES!!!  I started jabbing buttons when it got to 6% before I toppled off the back!  I got it figured out eventually, but I don't like machines that just take it upon themselves to start jiggling things around.

I've biked about 7 miles on the recumbent bike but can't even fathom 12 miles at a fast pace.  You da woman!!!!!

I got in about 14K on my pedometer.  I am SO ready to hit the sack!  Zzzzzzz.

LOl...I should have taken pics.....but my camera is up to 3,000 right now & I need to transfer them to the computer (I am a picture taker!!) so I can take some more.....we had fun.

Well, thanks for the kudos. I am sure that those treadmills are possessed.......one time I was on one and it started to speed up to a run and a friend of mine walked in the gym & yelled "Hey Micheala...how are you>" and...thud, chug,chug, thud....thump.   That was the sound of me tripping, hitting the treadmill belt, hanging on for dear life only to be thrown off the back & hit the gym floor in front of everyone!  Very, very graceful!  Yup, I like to manually raise the incline & speed!! :).

Well, I am off to grocery shop....trying to just go once a week now instead of our typical 5 trips per week......I am taking today off of IDGOMB because apparently I have done something quite terrible to a muscle (feels like a bone) in the outside of my right foot---it is swollen (Tim keeps calling it my goiter.....cute, eh?) and bruised....at first I thought it was a stress fracture, but, nope....it's some type of ligament thing......felt fine yesterday on our ride......just got bad last night.  I need to get my feet Disney-ready....we leave in 22 days!!!

Have a great Saturday......luv ya' girly, Micheala.
