Centennial Medical Center questions
Hey folks!
I have just switched from a GA surgeon to Dr. Houston in Nashville. Hopefully I'll be having DS surgery on July 7! That being said, I have a few questions about CMC.
Do you know if CMC has wireless internet on the campus? How about in patient rooms?
Also, since I'll be an out of state patient, do any of you recommend a specific hotel near the hospital? My parents will be coming with me, so a 2 bedroom suite is probably what I'll look for, especially after I'm discharged from the hospital. If you came from outside the area, how long did you stay in Nashville post hospital discharge?

Yes, from what I hear it is per bariatric coordinator at CMC.
My surgery is on June 9th at CMC and I also live in GA. My plan is to go early of course like on the 8th and get a hotel so I can prepare for surgery. I asked Holly about the Hospitality Hotel that is about $20 a night. I plan to stay until there or get a hotel if rooms are not available. My super hero John told me to also go on Priceline.com to get cheap rates near the hospital. KIT!

i don't know if i am superhero or not but .. LOL CMC does have wireless and typically everyone gets thier own room. The room has a chair that folds down to a bed if someone wants to spend the night.. my mom refused to sleep on it... LOL. There are many hotels near the hospital, I live across town near the airport and my mom stayed there when she came for my surgery. She stayed at the homestead suites and got the 2 room suite (2 queen beds and a bath) and the a living room with pull out couch and a kitchen and another bath. It runs like 65 a night or something. I think they have a similar hotel near the hospital since this one is about 12 miles from the hospital. If you want to PM me I can give you my number and you can all with any questions. I know the othe GA girls... love calling and asking me tons of questions (which I love answering). Pay it forward is the moto and the DS with Dr. Houston is what is it all about.

I too had mine (RNY) at CMC and loved MOST of the staff there. I now work near Vandy and there are a lot of hotels to choose from. Vamdy and CMC are very close to each other. Please PM me and we can work on hotels and locations for you. When you PM me give me your email address as I can get on OH at work- security issues. Good luck to all of you on your surgeries.

I just had my surgery 5 weeks ago and my mom and 2 year daughter came with me, and they stayed at the Extended stay on the West End. It's less than a 5 min drive away and only about 2-3 turns. We had to choose somewhere close because my mom doesn't like driving lol!. They stayed at that location from Sunday (day before surgery****il Thursday (day I was discharged) and then we moved to the Extended stay location near the airport (it was cheaper****il my one week follow-up on May 5th.
