I'm being pro-active in the exercise realm!

I haven't done anything yet, but here's my plan for the day.  I'll edit stuff once I actually do it, like I did yesterday.

::  20 minutes on recumbent bike  went 7.4 miles in 21 minutes

::  hamstring, quad and IT band (hip) stretches  complete!

::  Upper body strength training machines  did 2 sets, 12 reps chest press, rear deltoid, lat pull down and back extensions

::  additional aerobic fun by mowing grass, front and back yards  Crap!  It's storming.  Odds of getting this done are slim to none today!    YAY!  It apparently did not rain at home and I was able to get the grass cut!  YIPPEE!!!

What's on the agenda for your physical activity today?  Have a plan to get moving?

So far, I've done 45 minutes of PT at the center. I will do another set before bedtime. That will be about it for today.

 Hi Karen!

I hope you were able to get to your 2nd set of exercises and that they helped relieve a bit of the stress you're feeling today.

Know I'm thinking about you!

HUGS!!!

So...My exercise today was walking...Lots of walking...

Took my boys (Wade, 15 and Jarrett, 12) to Gatlinburg for the nite. (My mom also went)

Walked up and down, up and down, etc the Gatlinburg strip...Then we went to Wonderworks (we loved it).

Very tired, sore, but it feels great....

Heh, heh, that tired and sore feeling is gratifying, isn't it!  Great thing about a trip like that is having fun while getting some movement in!

Keep up that walking--those hills in Gatlinburg will do wonders for the ol' glutes!!!

HUGS!!!

Good news & bad for my post...the bad news is the strep throat that plagued our house  got way, way worse over the past two days.....as a result, I totally flunked my June Bug test where my goal was the 9:30 am classes four days a week plus one run.....phooooey....but, the kiddos have to come first.  Of course, I have been sick, too, but I hate to go to bed at night not having worked out at all that day not matter how cruddy I feel......so, I was able to sneak away and do the following today (this is the good news...):

Walk/run 1 mile then rode 1.25 miles on mountain bike---up hill both ways....lol...well, not both ways, but up hill a bunch of the time....my legs were burning.  So, it wasn't the 60 minute spin class at the Y, but at least I did something even though I felt cruddy...

And, I burned some calories jumping up and down when I weighed this morning because I realized I only have 4 more pounds until I am at the 1/2 way mark in my weight loss.....today was 11 weeks since surgery....I am hoping to hit the 1/2 point of 67 pounds lost by next Tuesday, which is my 3 month surgerversary date .....wish me luck!

Woman!  That you are even getting out of bed with strep throat is amazing to me!  You are a crazy, dedicated trooper!

And that you're halfway there!?  Well, 4 pounds is nothing--you'll knock that out in short order!  OMG, that's amazing!  I was just looking at that myself and I've got maybe 10-15 until I get to that point.  It just sounds so incredible--to be halfway there.  And so soon, in fact!

It seems like surgery was years ago.  But just yesterday.  3 months?  I can't believe how time has flown.

Get SOME REST!  Don't push yourself too hard.  You want to get this bug out of your system.  Then there'll be plenty of time to hit the ground running.  Or biking.

HUGS!!!

You are doing so great w/your exercise!!!  woooo-hoooey! 7.4 miles in 21 minutes is awesome!!  I wish I had some creatively humorous description of what 7.4 miles is, but I am feeling too yucky to think straight right now!!  Cheers to you..xo, M.

Thanks!  I'm enjoying the exercise and the totally relaxed pace of my gym.  It's not crowded at all, super convenient and I am in love with the weight training machines.

Sigh.  Aren't they dreamy??

I am itching to go back to the WLS clinic and get weighed!  The Tanita scale does body composition and I'm curious to see how I'm doing with respect to fat loss vs. maintaining or building muscle mass.

You know there'll be a long winded blog posted when I get that info!
