Feeling icky today
So I have been steadily losing weight (at my halfway mark) but I still feel bloated and fat most of the time. I'm guessing that is pretty normal for most people?
My clothes are loose and I can "see" that I am getting smaller, but I don't "feel" any smaller.
I know it is all psychological and will hopefully get better in time. It's just funny to me because some days I will eat my small portions of food throughout the day, feel like I have "pigged out", and then check the scale and I had actually lost a pound.
How can I rid myself of that bloated, icky, fat feeling? Easier said than done, right?

If you are like anyone else... normal... you will continue to feel like a "fat" person for a while.
I still do, and I'm basicly at my goal.
I would recomend that you go and talk with a therapist about this issue. I would not hurt for ALL WLS patients to seek help in this area.
I talk with someone twice a month and it has helped some. I know that it will take time, but I will get there.
I have been overweight all my life, so that is all I know. You may or may not be the same.
Michael.

The multiple psychologist led groups discuss this topic frequently. We have groups every Tuesday and Thursday at noon. Also, our men's group meets this Saturday at 10. I think this topic is pretty pertinent for all groups.

Yeah.. I figured I was "preaching to the choir" on this one. I'm still a very happy go lucky/ easy going guy, so it's not impacting my life in a bad way.
In fact, I probably wouldn't even think about it very often, except for the fact that people at work constantly walk by my desk and say- "how much weight have you lost?", "you are wasting away", or "looking skinny!".
When they say this, I pause and think to myself "I sure don't feel skinny (I feel as heavy as I was before the surgery)."
This too, shall pass. :-)
