No More Protein Snobbery from me
OK I have been knocked off my little high and mighty horse TWICE this year!
As you recall, I had a disdain towards the Atkins products. Would not touch those little suckers cause they didn't come from hoity toity expensive vitamin store or website... WELL... then a few months ago I tried them and wow! they were great. good stats too.
Well then I got knocked off the ole horse once again this week, thanks to NashvilleItalian... STEVE! So he brought me over some, are you ready for this, MUSCLE MILK LIGHT, 100 calories, 15 g protein, 3 net carbs... chocolate. And it is SO WONDERFUL. I must admit, either my taster is temporarily broken, crazy, or just plain confused... cause it is the best little ready to drink I've tasted in a long time...
You young whipper snappers can teach this ole wls vet some stuff...

I think I would be the perfect Hood representative. I emailed them last year to seek out putting their ad on my site, but they thought they were big enough without me. LOL. Oh well.
I love Hood 2% milk. Its much less in carbs and sugars than even SKIM milk. Here's a link to their site: Hood. They sell regular milks and ice creams but you are looking for Hood Calorie Countdown. They come in a green 1/2 gallon and blue 1/2 gallon container. Green is fat free. Blue is 2%. They also have brown which is chocolate milk (low carb)
Using 2 oz in an 8 oz protein shake is just enough to give it creamyness IF a person cannot do JUST water (2 oz Hood, 6 oz milk).
Here are stats for 8 oz of 2% hood:
Calories: 90
Fat: 5
Carbs: 3
Sugar: 3
Protein: 8
Kroger sells it. Look in the diary section but normally its on the very bottom (underneath the 8th Continent Light Soy milks). Its kinda tricky to find sometimes. And, Publix does sell Hood but its the REAL deal. Real milk, not the low carb. Wally word used to sell it but did away with it last year. Remember though, you aren't using a full 8 oz in protein shakes... just 1 or 2 oz at the most IF you really need to. Its also good to cook with for the entire family.

If I'm not mistaken, muscle milk light is on sale at costco through Sunday.
