Off to Kenny & Missy's post op support group, but wanted to start the thread for the day:

I did my 20 minute walk
10 minutes on the recumbent bike
lower body machines
physical therapy stretches

Joined the gym and learned lots of new equipment--more lower body stuff and some upper body.  Love them and loved the guy Mark who worked with me.  He taught me to keep my abs tight.  Not suck in my stomach, but just tighten them.  Till today I had no idea there was a difference!!!

Now I am walking into walls because I am concentrating so hard on tightening my abs that I kind of can't walk in a straight line any more!

Okay, what have you done today to get moving???

Whew!  I suspect the pool tomorrow will be much more fun than laundry!  I'm sooooo jealous!

You have to tell us more about the 12 week Y Challenge--Kerri's doing this too, right?  Sounds very fun, so I wanna hear alllll about it!

Keep up the great work and have fun splashing around tomorrow!

You are doing SO GREAT, Cathy!!!  You are 8 pounds away from Onederland!  You might have to go shopping and treat yourself to a new outfit or something.  You've definitely earned it!

I'm sure your early morning workout will leave you energized for your marathon of activity tomorrow.  I hope you have lots of fun!!!

As for me, I finally for the first time in a few weeks the 10,000 mark with steps!  I'm currently at 10,716.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to achieve 10,000 steps again.  I'm also planning on going to the gym after lunch and walking from my office to Blackstone's on West End to meet friends for dinner.  OOOOOH--I should go to geodistance.com and see how far that is!  Yay--it's 0.61 miles.  Steps, steps, steps!

I worked my tail off at physical therapy for 45 minutes today including treadmill and recumbant bike time. I think I love the recumbant bike. Thinking of getting one in the next couple of weeks. Found a decent one at Walmart that is reasonably priced. Whew. Tired tonight.

Karen, you are kicking butt and taking names with your PT workouts!  Isn't it fun?!?

I'm with you on the recumbent bikes (though I inadvertently called them "incumbent," bikes once!).  I have an upright stationary bike but don't use it because it hurts my butt.  Maybe with weight loss, I can use it soon.  They have great ones at the gym with a tv screen and fun things built in, like a track or bike course that shows your progress through it.  My initial goal is to complete the 5K course, which should take me about 20 minutes.  I'm only doing 10 right now, but will be bumping it up very soon.

Keep up the great work and let us know if you take the home bike plunge!  Hope you slept like a baby last night after getting all that exercise!

HUGS!!!
