Looks like you had the right EAS...  maybe you are just not able to do that particular type of protein shake...

I would not do any applesauce except the teaspoon to take your meds.  Did the nutritionist tell you to use applesauce to take your powdered meds in?  they used to also suggest putting it into some sugar free chocolate syrup but not sure if they still do...?  11 sugars even if they are natural sugars are still enough to make you dump.  Be cautious with any sugar content, even the sugar in milk.

Ok I won`t eat any of it. They didn`t tell me anything about how to take my meds except cruch the pills. Thats a great idea to put it in sf choc.syrup or something like that. I have just been pouring it in my mouth sorta like a BC and that is were I ran in to forgetting and taking bigger swallows. ugh!!! Thanks so much for the advice.

I am having the same problem. I called Dr. Olsen's office today and I was told it's spazems. Your stomack is trying to get used to to temperatures and things that you are placing in it. I was told it should go away after 4 weeks. But I feel your pain. It feels like your stomach is just knotting all up. I have also noticed that if you continue to sip it will help it go away alot quicker.

Hope this helps...

Could you have become lactose intolerant?

I can take 1 sip of room temp water and my stomach hurts, only for a few minutes but it hurts. Now I can eat sf popsicles all day long and it dont hurt a bit. Now Cathy said plain water was a little hard to tolerate, so I am thinking it is the water. DID YOU MEAN IT WILL GO AWAY ON THE 4TH WEEK OR IN 4 MORE WEEKS?

I dont know if I am lactose intollerant,I have always despised milk but other milk products like ice cream never bothered me. The surgery may have made me that way they said my body will change, who knows....

I spoke to Kendra and she said it goes away AFTER 4 weeks, but to be on the safe side I would ask Dr. Olsen tomorrow. I would like to know what he says it is...

Sonya, I am a DSer, not an RNYer, but I could NOT drink plain water for nearly 8 weeks after surgery. I ended up drinking a LOT of herbal peppermint tea. That stuff went down with no problems. About 6 weeks after surgery, I discovered that I could drink room-temperature electrolyte enhanced water (like Glaceau's Smar****er which you can get at convenience stores and Walgreens, and Whole Foods and Trader Joe's both have store brand bottled electrolyte-enhanced water). If you decide to try this, just be sure to try the water at room temperature. Good Luck!

God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny.
