So here's what I've done today, while the weather was still cooperating. Missy and I went down to the Shelby Bottoms Greenway and road about 9 miles on our bikes. Not bad for our second time down there. It's a nice little trail for those who haven't been down there.

I wish I weren't so afraid of cracking my skull open like an egg (even helmeted!), or I'd get a bike, too!  Use it to take my dogs running while I pedal.  Someday, someday!

I've taken it easy today, resting between PT sessions.  But I have gotten in about 5000 steps so far.  Kinda small potatoes, but better than nothing.  I'll probably hit about 7000 by day's end.  If I'm able to cut the grass tonight, more like 10K.

We'll see!

NEXT?!?!?

I feel ya, we weren't comfortable until recently as the weight came off. But soon, you'll be ready to do and it'll feel great when you do.

I'm looking forward to that day, Kenny!

Hey, I wasn't quite as lucky as you . . . I got about 3/4 of the yard cut when the monsoon hit.

It was fun though, almost as fun as being a kid in a storm splashing in puddles.  Except with thunder and wet slippery grass and a high speed cutting blade.  Yikes!

At least I'm near 8000 steps!  Gotta see how much closer that gets me to Kansas City.

See y'all tomorrow night!

That reminds me of a neat little fact I read last night. Evidently rain contains B12, wish I'd known that when I was a kid.

Sorry Mom, I can't come in, I'm trying to get my B12 in. So if you need me, I'll be out here jumping in these puddles

I love it!  Not that you fell, I mean, but that you are 62 and riding a bike!  That is NOT TOO OLD!!!!

When I get around to buying one, maybe I'll get one of those 3 wheelers (might be harder for the dogs to drag me over) and perhaps a bubble wrap suit.

That skinned knee is a great battle scar.  Yeah, got it while I was out biking.  Wear it proudly!

And congratulations on y our 110 pound weight loss, Janet!  That's amazing!

Thanks for the motivation and inspiration!
Denise

You all crack me up....such a fun group....

Today's workout included:

Walking 1/2 mile as a warm up to a 1/2 mile run & then another 1/2 mile walk...so, 1.5 miles total.  Then I jumped right on my mountain bike and rode 2 miles of hills while my legs burned and the rain pounded down on me...it was kinda fun, though....and, who knew about the B-12!?!?!  Good news!

Then I dried off and stretched, went inside and did 10 minutes of Kettle Bell training (arms), and 100 crunches (abs & lats) and worked glutes, quads & hamstrings w/weights before I ended with 10 minutes of yoga/stretching.......it feels so good to work out again.......Total workout time today: 57 Minutes.

......oh, and today I hit a goal...I made it into the 20s!! I had been hanging out at 230 for a few days, so it was nice to see the scale move....one goal I had pre-WLS was to get to 227--that is the lowest weight I got to when I did Atkins in 2003 after I had my first baby.....of course, two more babies came so quickly after that I didn't ever see that number again....but it feels like I have come full circle & now everything I lose is just gravy (low-carb, no sugar added, protein enriched gravy, but gravy nonetheless....lol!)......I can't wait to get to goal!  xo, M......

NEXT AMAZING PERSON............
