Life as a competitive athlete started early for Mary, training with nationally
recognized tennis coach Tony Womedu. She played in many competitive tournaments
and progressed on to rank in the South East Division. She played many other
sports on club teams, where a favorite highlight was playing on the State
Championship Basketball team i***** In college, she worked as the Tennis Pro
at Tapawingo Camp in New York, where she also spent several months in the
Adirondack High peaks as a trail leader. As an adult, Mary has continued to
compete in running, cycling, and triathlons. She raced as a member of the
Multi-Sport Team in Memphis, Tennessee, sponsored by Six50 and New Balance for
the Southeast.
Mary has an extensive background in the fitness industry, where she started as a
personal trainer and worked in many other roles to develop wide-ranging
experience in program development and management. She was the "Fitness Tuesday"
Fitness Expert for Fox News, in Memphis, Tennessee. In Washington, DC, she
worked for Town Sports International as a Fitness Program Manager and was soon
promoted to Regional Group Exercise Manager, where she oversaw programming and
development for 10 clubs and 500+ instructors.
Most recently, Mary worked in San Francisco, California, at the esteemed AXIS
Performance Center. There she trained with several other nationally recognized
trainers and presenters. Her clients ranged from professional athletes,
rehabilitation, executives, and teens.
Mary studied Public Relations and Advertising at Union University, in Tennessee.
She also holds certifications with YogaFit, PowerHouse Pilates, Maddog Spinning,
Resist-a-Ball, NASM Group Exercise, and W.I.T.S. PT, as well as NASM CPT. She is
also a certified Golf Specialist with GMP, and studied Kettlebell implementation
under Mark Reifkind. Mary is a certified Life Coach with Trinity Life Solutions.
