Melinda asked this on another post, and it got me thinking!

"What are your plans for Memorial Day?"Salute

I think I'm just gonnna lay around and enjoy the day off.  But I will be cooking all day!  To me, cooking is enjoyable!  I love to find recipes and try to make them more weight loss friendly!Cooking Dinner

Todays menu:

Smoked Baby Back Ribs
7 layer salad
Strawberry Cream Freeze

I promise there will be recipes and "food porn" later in the day!  For those newbies that are concerned about "food porn", it's just pictures of the recipes that we make!
BBQ
So, jump right in, and let me know what your up to today!

Oh yeah, if it's pretty, I might go for a walk and shoot something! Snappy

Well, we're going to Mike's house for a bbq.  I am not making a dessert at all believe it or not!  Tim bought a watermelon.  LAST time he bough****ermelon, I had 2 small cubes and the entire thing was gone when I came back from the retreat!  Can you believe that?  So today hopefully I will snag me a few cubes!!

I am relaxing at the house today...  we got most of the cleaning done yesterday and now we can just sit here and watch tv, listen to music or whatever....

My holiday has food in it, but its not about food.  It's about spending time with my friends, and enjoying my day off.

DH is working the night shift tonight.  Any cooking will have to be done by 3:pm.  That's good for me because once we clean up there will be no excuses for excessive grazing.  We are making it simple.  I made some homemade chili (WLS Friendly) and we are going to grill out for the kids and Mother.  They are having burgers and dogs with the trimmings and I will eat my chili.  They will have access to the chili too,  I am trying to meet my May challenge and so far Its not looking good.  I've only lost 10 or ll pounds so far.  My goal was 20.

I don't want to stray........I want a better life more than I want some crappy not good for me food that I will feel bad and guilty about later.  Just have to get your priorities straight.

We are going to mom's for a cookout. We are taking your brownie trifle(sp), I always get a request for it when for something like this. I am also taking peanut butter fluff that the Wilson's make. I made it with PB2 and it came out great. I just spoon them on to the cookie sheet and froze them and OMG they are awesome. I can't believe that I am twiking (sp) receipes (sp).

I am also so looking forward to seeing my brother only for the 2nd time in over 20 years I can't wait. Still want be seeing my youngest son and the new baby, so of course that will be on my mind, but I am going to "TRY" to not let ruin my day.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday no matter what you are doing. Be sure to buckle up....eyes will be watching. I always to at least now since I can buckle it and everytime I do I have just a little WOW moment, since it would not fit before WLS.

Today I will indulge in ONE thing: a big juicy grilled hamberger with everything except bun and mayo!  maybe one bite of potato salad and if I have room, a bite or two of baked beans---but PROTEIN FIRST TODAY!  And LOTS of Crystal Lite Lemonade!  YUMMY!

I am making sure I get all my exercise in first today.
Walking on treadmill 40 min. and then I am going to push
mow about 40 minutes and then ride the lawn mower the
rest.
We are going to a cook out and I am taking Chocolate
Meringue pie. I'm not eating any of it. I am having only
a steak and salad.
Everybody be safe and have fun!!!

We just bought a new firepit for the back yard so the kids and the grandson are coming over for a wiener roast. We will have marshmallows too. I am allowing myself 1 light beef wiener minus the bun probably with a little mustard, relish and onions,  and 1 roasted marshmallow. Cant wait to have all the kids home for a bit. It seems to be raining a bit at the moment. I hope that clears out by tonight.

Scott.  I know this may not be the forum to ask, but can  you freeze the "bites" that you have on your food for thought web site.  I have seen these on eggface too, but there are way to many of them that are made with one batch and 5 eggs.  That is why I haven't made them yet.

Just wanting to know.    Thanks

Cathy,

Beth said you sshould be able to freeze them after they are cooked.  You are right, it does make quite a bit.  That's why we only make them when we have get togethers at church, or with the family!

You could also try cutting the recipe into 1/4's.  That might make a smaller batch!
