Two year Surgerversary today
Ok, I generallly don't post a whole lot about my "progress" but milestones I try to check in. Today marks my 2 year mark from my RNY.
First the STATS:
Starting Weight 320, 311 day of Surgery -- Weight today 155
-- weight loss 165 pounds -- I weigh less than the amount I've lost!!! Isn't that cool.
Clothing sizes: 32 to firmly 12 regular pants, tops & blouses -- mediums 7/8.
Complications: I really haven't had any other than having my gallbladder out in March which is normal for weight loss in general -- I have been very fortunate.
Wow Moments: probably the normals ones --
fitting somewhere I didn't before...
putting on a size I didn't expect to fit...
sitting on the floor to help with a bunch a kids and not having any issue "getting up"...
looking at a old picture and really being amazed that was me...
standing next to someone I consider thin and realizing I'm smaller than them...
Standing in line checking out and seeing the security camera image and not recognizing myself because that person is "too small"...
Keeping up and leading the pace, exercising and it not taking everything out of you...
Challenges:
Keeping the basics the "basics"
Realizing weight loss (and maintaining it) is a journey not a destination.
The weight is off (well, most of it) now comes the hard part -- maintaining it.
Personal observations and encourage to other WLS patients at all stages:
My WLS have been such wonderful gift to myself from my health and self image and just proving I can lose the weight -- I had almost given up on being "normal" --well, normal is debateable .
I liked myself before the surgery, I had life challenges before surgery, I had skills, talents and gifts to offer before surgery, I loved God and Jesus with all my heart before surgery, I like people and took interest in people before surgery and I could go on and on...but the basic point is I would encourage anyone going through this process is to realize large or small you are a valuable person...wls just allows you to be healthier and able to be more active, and maybe a little "hotter" ... it's not a magic bullet to make your life "work"...but it allows it be "better". It's been a wonderful thing for me even when my crazy life seems to be out of control sometimes ....it's something I can point to happening that's a very good thing.
Thank you all that have been and will continue to walk with me through this journey.... 2 years out....the hard part is only starting..thank you all.
oh, heres the before and after pics:
*thank you, Scott!*
Scott ....if you see this and can help me get my pictures to work...see WLS isn't the cure all to posting ineptness.

Pam, congrats on your surgerversary! WOW, you are truly an inspiration to me, my family, and everyone here on the boards!
Keep it up! Below are the pictures you tried to post. I hope this is OK, that I put them here in my post! Hope it helps!
And here is one from one of the first Lunch Bunches you attended!
I believe this is August of 2007! Can you recognize any of the others?
Let's see if I can help you out:
Front row: Shelia B., Tywanna, Elana, Pam E. Beth O., Luvmissy, ?, Scott O., Melissa M.
Back row: April, Juanita, Paula, Misty, Marie, ?, Melinda, ?, Kym, ?
If anyone can fill in the question marks, that would be great. Who knows, you might even win a whoopi cushion!
