HELP NEEDED I am going to TRY and get back on track!!!
I need to get back on track, I have gone down hill since my plastic surgery a year ago and trust me this downward slope is not a fun one at all. This is hard and I do not want to go into details at this time as it is really hard to describe. (Maybe one day I will be able to share, however one step at a time) I have had friends throughout this time that has been helping me and for them I am eternally grateful. So I need your support, advice, and encouragement to get back on track. I am 2 1/2 years out and I have gained back 25 top 30 pounds part due to steroids, part due to not following the RULES, depression, and Stress. For those that know me Hello and for those that don't Hello, your advice whether you are new or old will be useful as it seems even the simplest things can go forgotten.

Shelia
Hey there lady. Well you took the first and MOST important step by seeking support. Next things are easier said than done. Go threw the cabinets and get rid of all the temptations and high carb foods. Journal your food and liquid intake and start an exercise plan. Exercise doesn't have to be brutal or even dreadful just a simple walk can get things going. I myself have gained about 10 pounds over the last few months and it's hell trying to get it off because like it or not the further out you are the harder it is to lose weight. If you have someone in your area I would suggest getting a walking partner that will keep you motivated and be a source of support. I have been battling the food deamons myself and when things get tuff in life I think food is comfort when its really the enemy. Believe me I personally know how hard it is. It's good to hear from you . Take care and let us know how things are going.
Shelia, it's good to see you here! There are some new folks that have recently come aboard, and many have already had surgery. But, I promise, they are nice! And also, they being so new to all the rules are the best ones to remind us veterans in case we should forget....
How about we do this... let's ask the new people to give us a few pointers that they have learned already on their newly embarked journeys... I guess we can call it "The Basics 101"...
I think the biggest thing I would have to say that I have learned these past few years is: when you are in trouble, and eating habits have spiraled out of control, decarb your body and get those cravings for carbs out of your system... That's not an easy thing to do!! Our bodies sure like them, and want them, and oh boy, they taste great! I do this often! Anytime I find my eating is a little out of whack, or I want things that I know I shouldn't have, I have to go back to do a few days of proteins (both shakes and dense meats)...
We are here for you. We can come up with a good plan to get you back on track and also, I think many of us do understand that steroids are some powerful stuff... contributing to weight gain, puffiness, and yes even food cravings and appetite....

Sorry to hear of your troubles.
I am VERY near my original goal, and I am finding that it is getting harder to take off that last little bit of weight.
I know what you are going through as I've been a bit relaxed in eating plans and straying from the "straight and narrow". I will go several days and eat the things that i shoudn't and then say WOA! I then realize that I am eating the wrong foods. I then do really good and am able to get it under control and start loosing again (I am only 11 lbs from goal so, tiny steps at this point).
I understood that I have issues that I have to deal with mentally. So I seeked out a therapist. Nothing wrong with that. I would recommend anyone going through this to seek one out, even if it is a couple of visits. Family and friends are great, but they are not trained to help like a therapist can.
The physical side, i.e. steroids, etc cannot be fixed with a therapist. Those you may need the assistance from your doctor. I took steroids for about 6 months because of Crohn's. I gained about 60 lbs. I was hungry all the time. That is now under control and I do not have to take that anymore.
Made some of this will hep, maybe not as we don't know the specifics. I do hope that you are able to get the help that you need. Believe me I know it is hard.
Michael.

I agree with Juanita. Go back to basics. Clean out the unhealthy food from your house and then log everything you put in your mouth. Having everything written down and having the numbers in front of you can really help you see where to make improvements. Do you still have access to a nutritionist? Give her a call and have her set some limits for you for calories, fat, and carbs. Also, exercise will help. Even if you can only manage a half hour walk several times per week.
I really hope you can get things together.
Blessings,
Karen

Sooooooooooooo glad to see you back on here. We have missed you terribly, I hope the feeling is the same.....lol
You have taken this step and I know how hard that was for you, but you did it and I knew that you would whenYOU was ready and not anyone else. Now you just need to keep stepping. Take the baby steps for awhile, there is nothing wrong with that, the main thing is that you keep stepping. You will be back in the swing of things before you know it. You have been there when other's have had to ask for help/advice and we are here for you now.
I don't know if I would have ever went to another Dinner Club if you had not welcomed me like you did at my 1st one. You was the 1st one to speak to me and I told you that I was shy and quiet and you told me that you would not let me be that way that night, and you didn't. I will never forget that night.
One of the 1st things that you need to do is get out and come to the Dinner Club this Saturday.........
As far as what to do next, well you will figure it all out. Don't be a stranger this board is here for you, just like you have been there for us and so many others.
Love ya girl,
Cheryl

Back to the Basics!!!
Enough Water
Limit those carbs
No drinking before and after meals
NO SNACKING ****ep telling myself this one as I'm just a couple days out from 2 years and can see this is going to be my issue --well, the carbs too )
If your not exercise -- get back to it.
Seek support -- but you just did!
We all know what it is like to be out of control with eating ....our battle is with the first few pounds gained -- not gonna let it be "many" pounds gained, again.
HUGS
