I had a "Scott Day" the other day

Yes I had a Scott Day a few days ago. Which by definition is a day that I had my friend Scott on my mind.

I was concerned about his recent post of basically feeling powerless over certain foods and getting back into old habits and routines that we swore we would never return to once freed from. The most aggravating part for me is that I can’t go over and fix it for him. Shoot I can’t even fix myself. I am a care taker by nature (so I think I am anyway). If I have a friend or family member that is hurting I tend to say to them “okay, you sit and wait for me right here while I go fix the problem." Then I wander aimlessly out in the wilderness for days on end looking for the solution only to return with more problems than me and my friend had before I set out to find the cure that ailed him or her.

So back to my Scott day. I found myself sitting on the sidewalk downtown. It was necessary to be walking down there for a few hours and I started to get tired and decided to rest for a moment. When I walk I have lots and lots of time to think and reflect and must have been reflecting on the potent verbage Scott used the other day. So I look down at my feet and begin to crack up laughing. As most of you know Scott and I have had a foot photo war going on for sometime now. It started when we both innocently and accidentally took photos of people’s feet at the same function we were attending and it has served us well to amuse each other with ever since. It doesn’t take much to amuse either of us. So Scott this is for you.

As if that wasn’t enough I looked to my left and low and behold there stood Elvis. The laughter became uncontrollable at that moment only because Scott had shared with me some years earlier about some mutual friends we have in a professional circle and a discussion emerged about Elvis. I said to myself yep this certainly bonafied a Scott Day for sure. So here you go Scott.

As I scrolled through the image disc of the photos I had taken I could not help but to notice a certain item in this Elvis photo that I didn’t notice while taking the picture at the time. I will just leave that up to you Scott to see if you notice it too.

OK Trina, the foot thing I understand.  The comment about "potent verbage" is right on track.  In  fact, I understood that also.

As far as the picture of Elvis...I am truly lost.    Other than the "black velvet" painting of Elvis that I own, you got me girl!

I have no idea what I'm looking for?  Evidently my wattage is off today, cause I'm in the dark! animated light bulb

Take care!

OK fellow WLS peeps, the contest is on.  I have looked high-n-low for what Ms. Trina has told me to look for.  It almost reminds me of a line from this seasons series LOST.  For all you Losties out there, remember this..."What lies beneath the shadow of the statue?"

I have no clue what the Jaded One is talking about.  So here lies the rub, or hip swivel if you will.  Help me figure out what "Truly Trina" has me searching for, and I'll provide you with a protein bar.  Not one of those nasty tasting creations that body builders swear by, but one of those new Supreme Rocky Road bars!

Get out your magnifying glass, search through Elvis's wavy hair, look through the rhinestones, and you to, might be the owner of a delicious, yet nutritious protein bar!

Edited to add:  The first one to guess corectly wins.  The problem is this, only Trina can tell us the correct answer!

Help a fellow out...PLEASE!!!!!!!

The lessons of life many times have a way of sneaking up on me. Always when I least expect it, that bright light appears to come out of nowhere.

Jamie, you are absolutely right. When I saw the chains that were shackling Elvis in the photo it made me sad. I didn’t notice them before. My thought was not only did the man apparently live a life plagued with addiction such as food and drug but he never seemed to be able to break those chains of addiction that bound him and ultimately took his life. He lost faith in his ability and talents. He started believing his own bad press.

Anthony Robbins, the motivational speaker has been quoted as saying that we finally get to the point where the pain of what we are doing is greater than the pleasure.

I want to break the chains that bind me. I want to be aware of each moment and live in the present. I spend too much time regretting the past and fearing the future. I want to be authentic. I want to be myself. Sometimes we isolate ourselves out of fear that other people will see the true us and not like who we are, so we hide our beauty, we hide our talents.

Be who you are, not who anyone else wants you to be.

Okay Scott, the prize winner is Jamie.  Scott, thanks for turning this into fun stuff, that is the Scott that I know and have always counted on to cheer me up and make me laugh. Although I am a little surprised by your choice of prizes, that being a protein bar, I dunno I thought it might be something cool like a whoopi cushion, or one of those cool 3D toy view finders where one could view amphibians, reptiles, and world wonders.  However, it is YOUR prize award so a protein bar it is. Supreme Rocky Road sounds delish…

P.S.  For the love of Pete would someone please go down to lower Broadway and remove the chains that bind Elvis. It just isn’t right. Hasn’t the man suffered enough without still being shackled and chained…..

Trina, Thank you!

When I first looked at the pic of Elvis, I immediately saw the chains, and thought, um that surely is a Change Of Habit for the old man!

Then I started looking for something deeper, and then I  got All Shook Up!

So, Thank You for allowing me to Follow That Dream !

Just remember, there is only one King !

Have a good day!

Is it the fact that Elvis is chained up??  The black chain around him doesn't go with his suit.  LOL LOL
Oh well, had to try...
