Have you ever been asked ......
to describe yourself in one or more words? I can remember going on job interviews – for teaching, and being asked to describe myself in five words and I would be judged by those words. When I was in high school - 25+ years ago, an exboyfriend used to call me “That witch, that *itch, that sl*t, that wh*re", said with rhythm - and I was judged by them. Now I have a new word to describe me – thanks to R.J. and I love this one - DIVA!
Now that I have lost weight I tend to do my nails – all the time – wear better looking clothes – wear makeup (except on Saturdays!) and I don’t do the lawn! Why not the lawn you ask – well according to R.J. it is because I am a DIVA! Real reason is he is now old enough to do it himself and it is his chore now.
So, I ask all of you for your words – or the words of others, what describes you? We will not judge you lie they do in interviews; I am curious as to how peoples descriptions of themselves have changed through this wondrous and miraculous process.

I think word most people would use, if they knew me before surgery, would be "recluse". After years of obesity, I really cut myself off from the real outside world. Not that I didn't love to go out shopping and places, but I wouldn't meet people's eyes. If they spoke to me I was friendly but very nervous. Now, I seem to be coming out of that. I'm not as self-conscious anymore, even though I still have a long way to go. I am able to greet people with a smile and a "hi". I'm not afraid to go into crowded restaurants anymore. I'm not afraid to eat in front of people. I'm not afraid of what they think when they see me eating. I'm not afraid of being judged for my food choices. I think the words that describe me now are words like "content", "positive", "hopeful", and maybe "confident". I'm not sure how I appear to others at this point but those words describe how I feel.
Great topic, Beth.

Okay...being the youngest of 10 kids---five of them brothers---I have been given a lot of nicknames.....most of them two words....of course, my brothers, who I love dearly, call me "Rucking Fetarded"...I have no idea where that came from (okay...I do....but I won't admit what I did to get that nickname.......lol)
......my husband just asked me why I was laughing & I told him what I was typing....he offered two words that he would use to describe me: "Stubborn" and "Bombshell" (okay--he gets a point for the second one, even if he lies!!!).
But, if I had to come up with one word: Resilient.
Fun post....got me thinking....and reminded me to email my nutso brothers....lol! xo, Micheala.
