Yep,I really didnt know I was so addicted to food till it was gone. Saturday I have to take that Magnesium Citrate and I am soooo not looking forward to that. That is definatly were I am going to be weak. I think to bottles of it is essesive. I never have had problems empting my bowels out. I am dreading the drive to Nashville after that.    I can see it now hurry up and get to the next station. Its a 2hour and 30 minute drive for me. TORTURE!!!!!! LOL Thanks Karen....

Good luck with the Magnesium Citrate. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.I used the citrus/lemon flavor and over ice it just tastes like very strong lemonade. I got it down with no problem. It is better very cold though. I had one heck of a clean out day, but I did get through it. Besides the MC, I had to take 4 laxative tablets and a whole bottle of Miralax mixed with 32 ounces of Gatorade. I hate Gatorade. I had to drink a second 32 ounce bottle after the Miralax mixture. I dreaded it so much but when the day arrived, it really wasn't as bad as I thought. By then I was very excited that surgery day was almost here. One thing happened though that you wont believe. The morning of cleanout day, a pipe under the house froze and burst and for several hours we had no toilet that worked. Nightmare, right? By the time I started the process though, we had found a plumber to come take care of it.
Hang in there. You will do fine.

Oh I had to do that Miralax with Gatorade a few weeks ago and I to hate Gatorade!!!!! That was terrible. And what happened with your plumbing is just bad luck. That is terrible. I do dread the MC because when I start with the loose bowels I didn`t stop soon. I will leave for Nashville Sunday so maybe my stomach will calm down by then.

The MC shouldnt be as bad this time because you will have been on liquids for 10 days. There wont be a lot to clean out. By the morning after clean out day, it was over for me.
Good luck.

Think of it in a POSITIVE light. It shrinks your liver and makes the operation easier for you and your surgeon, plus it helps prepare you for life after the surgery.

I had to do a full month on the liquids because they postponed my surgery. I was butt necked, hooked up to the IV's and on my way to the OR when they said "Stop - no surgery today!"  Someone overlooked that I needed a couple of extra tests due to my prior heart attacks, stent and pacemaker. It was a bummer, but to be honest, it was a blessing in disguise. My surgery went extra smooth and only took 1 1/2 hours.

It's all good, and gets even better!

I bet you was weak 1 month on a liquid diet. I am glad to hear your operation went so smooth. That is great. They told me it would take around 3 hours for my surgery. I guess that's getting me ready and all they need to do. I bet your liver shrunk up a lot in a month. And the thought of everything will get better than before is why I keep on going. Thanks so much BamaBob!

Sonya,

It does get easier!!!!   I know the first three days I lived on Tylenol and my liquids, but after the third day, it just seemed to get smoother!!    During that phase, my house got extremely clean too!   I was doing ANYTHING to keep myself from the kitchen and temptation!

Just take it one day at a time and know at the end is the big payoff!  A healthier life!!!!

Sonya, You are a brave woman!  Anyone who can survive these preop diets is brave, very brave!  You have my respect!  Why, I can't even do a liquid diet RIGHT NOW!  If I miss meals, I get all weak and grouchy.  I have to eat every few hours due to the low blood sugar!

Hang in there, sis! You will be there before you know it...  Drink lots and lots of liquids to water load and that perhaps will help...

Thanks so much, that means alot to me. I haven't been drinking much because I never drink anything unless I eat so I need to start drinking more water and crystal light. This is defiantly a change for me. Again thank you.
