This 10  day diet is killing me!!!! I am still so weak and hungry and thinking why am I doing this to myself. I know why, I want a healthier life and lose weight but I think the 10 day liquid diet is ridiculous. I am steadily having headaches. I'm so sorry to complain I just had to vent. I told my family for these 10 days they was gonna have to fend for themselves. They are 18 and 37 I think they can handle it. Does it get any easier?

Well, sweets, ya know you're gonna have to do liquids post-op.  If you're anything like me, you'll wish you could enjoy them.  LOL  It took a while before I could tolerate "real" food even tho' I had to go ahead.  So yes, it does get easier. It just isn't real soon.

I hope this is the hardest part. I am just whinny because of lack of food. I told my friend yesterday it would be awhile before I could eat regular food again. I guess I am more addicted to food than I thought because I sure miss it lol.

Its hard but it is worth it. I hope it wont be so hard on you. If I were you I would slack off the food little by little then maybe it wont be so hard. Everyone around me said oh you got to eat while you can, they invited me over and cooked steaks for me and said to enjoy! I think that is what hurt me. I should have stopped and just ate a little to get by and then it maybe wouldn't be so bad. Well you live and learn. Thanks so much for the support Ronda.

I would like to say I know how you feel, but I don't yet. I start my 2 weeks on May 25th. I am not looking forward to it. I told my family and co-worker (I only have 1 other one in my office) that no one is allowed to eat anything around me. They all agreed. I hope that helps me handle it better. Outta sight outta mind thing, but I am probably fooling myself.

You can do this. Try to do something to keep your mind busy. Reading a book or puzzle games. Those always work for me.

 Hang in there Sonya!

I had horrible headaches for a few days as I was going through carb withdrawal.  I had no idea it would be so annoying.  But the headaches cleared after awhile and then it wasn't so bad.  By the end of it (I had 8 days), I was so busy cleaning out the cabinets and house getting the place ready for my recovery that I didn't have time to worry about food.

A wise woman at a support group meeting told me she chose to look at the liquid diet as a time to shed the control food had over her. To let it go.  I looked at it a****ting my reset button, so to speak.  The transition time between Before and After.

It gets better.  Aren't you glad you're taking the "easy way out?"

Surgery will be here for you in no time and you'll be past the awful liquid diet before you know it.  After surgery, at least for me, the liquids weren't nearly as big a deal!  Go figure!

Stay strong!  You can do this!!!

The 10 day liquid diet isn't easy but believe me, after surgery, you will be glad you did it. It will help break any carb addiction you might have and also help you get over some of your food cravings. Some of the people who dont have to do a liquid diet will be almost in shock at the immediate absense of food after surgery. Some of them deal with incredible head hunger. This is an opportunity to begin establishing a new relationship with food.
Good luck.
