Walked 1/2 mile & then ran 3/4 mile....that is the most I have run since surgery...yea!

Got on mountain bike & rode three miles & did one steep hill (ouch!)....

Tonight after the kids go to bed I will do 30 minutes on the recumbent bike, arm weight workouts & abs.....

It feels good to be able to post to this thread for the first time in a very long time. I was finally able to get physical therapy approved so now I am able to get some movement in. My first session was today and it went well. I have 5 exercises so far, they will add more at each session, and it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete them. I've gone through them twice today and will need to do it once more tonight. The plan is 3 times a day, every day. My next official session is tomorrow and then I will go in twice a week for the next 3 weeks. I'm so glad to be starting on a plan that will get me moving without damaging my weak back. So today, put me down for 30 minutes of movement.

Thanks for the encouragement, Bob. I'll tell you a secret. My husband is getting me a bicycle for Christmas. I've been inspired by your stories of riding when you can. We have a great neighborhood for riding. Hopefully, by Christmas I will be in good enough shape to get started.

I have had to back off on my walking because of my bursitis.  Stinkin' hip.  I am doing PT for it and have started doing stretches 3 times a day.  Not really exercise, but it's better than nothing at all.  I'd sell my firstborn child (if I had one) for a swim spa!!!

I've done 1 set of stretches so far, but can't do 2 of them at work because it involves lying on my back.  I am NOT getting on these nasty floors, even if they are carpeted!

Dr. Williams cleared me for exercise today, even ab workouts, so I will hop back on to my ol' elliptical shortly.

Yesterday I tried to NOT walk 10,000 steps (rode the bus and everything) but still did it!  How funny is that!?!

Karen--great job with your new exercise through PT!  I can't wait to see pictures of you riding around the neighborhood on your bike later this year!  It's great to see you posting on the IDGOMB thread and I'm so happy that you've lost enough weight that you can start moving!!!

Hugs to all!

Thanks, Denise. Good luck with your PT. A couple of my exercises are stretches too. I'm very inflexible at the moment. Especially the hamstrings. If I ever get on that bike I will have hubby take some photos.
Blessings,
Karen

Early Early this morning (after 12:00 am) I did 1 mile on the treadmill running, weights - arms & chest, then 4 miles on the bike and then another mile on the treadmill and then a cooldown. I have to say I am tired today, but no rest, back to the gym after work.
