Surgeons around Knoxville?
Heard wonderful things about Dr. Husted. I intially sought him out because I was interested in the DS. He used to be at Baptist in Nashville. By the time I was looking for him, he had moved to California. I saw him perform the DS on a teenage boy on TLC. That was what interested me in weight loss surgery in the first place. I learned just before my surgery that he had moved to KY. I looked into going there but my insurance was going to be difficult. His office said that maybe in time he could work something out with TennCare. I decided not to wait. You will be in good hands with him.
I wish you the best.

KELLY, I'm a patient of DR.RAY whose is partners with DR. COLQUIT. DR. RAY was wonderful I had my surgery on may 4th, it went great. I would highly recommend him, The frist thing he does is pray with you To me that ment a whole lot . Now I'm 8 days out doing GREAT . And the program fee I payed was only 500 dollars And they will tell you that no insurance will cover this fee. But anyway I wish you the best of luck on your choice.

I think almost all of us can identify with being nervous in the beginning. As the others have already told you, research, research research! Complications are always a possibility, unfortunately, even with the very best of the best surgeons. One just never knows, but we must be aware of this. As far as deciding on where to have the surgery, I think you will know who is right for you.
I have never understood why a program would charge such a huge extra program fee, outside of the insurance. At first I thought everyone, across the country, had to pay a program fee but in doing my own research discovered that just isn't so. I just couldn't afford it myself, so I hearya there!
Best of luck with where ever you go and feel free to PM me with any questions you may have.
