hello from Nashville
Hi everyone. I am a new member and just wanted to introduce myself. I had RNY done on April 20th. So far I have lost 26 lbs and have 92 more to go.
I have fought with weight all my life, but at the young age of 36 began having all sorts of health problems due to being heavy. Instead of taking BP meds and using a CPAP machine for the rest of my life, I decided to take control of my life and eliminate the root cause of the problem - food.
I'm committed to get rid of my excess weight, and with this surgery I know I can now do it.
I am looking forward to not being called "big man" anymore, not having to hide from cameras and mirrors because I didn't like what I saw, and I will now be able to sit in a restaurant booth without my stomach hanging over the side of the table!
I wish everyone success in their journey and look forward to getting to know each of you.
Steve

Hey, Steve. It's nice to meet you... I see Dr. Houston was your surgeon. He was mine as well... I'm sure they are taking great care of you. Congratulations on your 26 lb loss! Before you know it, you'll be at goal and saying, "I've hit it! I'm done now!" it will sometimes seem so slow, but then one day... you'll look back and say "Now that was quite a ride." Again, welcome, and just jump in here with the rest of us!
Hey Steve,
Welcome to OH and the TN board. The members here are a wealthy of knowledge and are very supportive. Congrats on your 26 pound weight loss... that is very exciting. It seems like just yesterday we were at the CMC support group where Dr. Houston was speaking at you had 6 days until your surgery.

I met a friend for dinner the other night and we sat in a booth. I was in the middle of a sentence when I realized that hey--there's like a few inches between me and the table. Talk about a great Oh Shiny Moment!
You're well on your way--congrats on your surgery and for finding this board. It's a great place to hang out at!

Hi Steve,
Welcome to OH and to the Loser's Bench. Congratulations on the surgery, it sounds like you're doing very good with the weightloss. Before you know it you'll weigh much less and finding not much in your closet fits.
I'm just a few months ahead of you and it's amazing how much changes from month to month. Working out at the gym is so much easier, heck my wife and I even went out and bought bikes and riding them is so much easier that it would have been at 300+ lbs.
Good luck, you'll be skinny before you know it.
