6 Week Follow Up Today...and added pics...
Hi Gang....well, today was my 6 week follow up with Dr. Houston....e'thing went great. He said that I had lost 26% of my excess weight & that was good....yippee! I started my pre-op diet 6 weeks & two days ago at 293....surgery weight was 289....today on my scale at home I weighed 246 (but dressed on Dr. H's scale I was 251)....I'll take either!
I feel great....sat in on Dr. Ihrig's support group after my appointment....always informative.
I finally uploaded some pictures & got my OH albums organized.....it is SO brutal to look at those first pics just two days before surgery.....I swear I never knew I looked that, well, BAD! Eeeeks! Why didn't someone tell me...lol!!!
xo, Micheala.

YOU ARE SOOOO GORGEOUS AND YOU CAN REALLY SEE THE DIFFERENCE!!!
Micheala, you are doing so well! I've lost 40-something pounds since I started the journey and you can't see nearly the difference there is with you. Stupid short person-itis!
Just use those old pictures to remind yourself how far you've come. I mean the biggest difference is in your face--and how it reflects how you feel. You're glowing in the recent shots, not so much in the first ones. It's like coming into alignment . . . the person on the outside reflecting the true person within.
I suspect the way you feel today makes the bee sting sensations, Target vomiting and mini-stroke seem like nothin'!
HUGS!!!!

Oh my goodness...you are a jewel. Thank you thank you thank you so much for saying that....it was really, really hard for me to post those pics!! The first thing I thought about the pre-op pics was how sad I looked. I didn't feel that way on the inside, but, of course, I wasn't convinced I was THAT fat!
Like most of us, I just avoided having pictures taken (kinda hard sometimes w/Tim's work...lol)....and now I really feel happy having a picture taken & excited to be able to see any difference.
I am so happy to read what you said....makes me feel more confident & so, so, so happy that I endured the bee stings, Target vomiting &, of course, the kicker...the mini-stroke! LOL!!
You are on your way....and, trust me, we can all notice the difference...it just takes a while for your head to catch up w/what's going on.....xo, Micheala.

Girlie, I call 'em like I see 'em! And I'm a totally sucky liar, so you know I'm telling the truth!!!
It was funny in the albums on Tim's FB page because there were no pictures of you--he had even commented how you were taking all the pictures. I hope now you spend more time in front of it because you look great! And your hair looks fabulous down, too. I keep forgetting how long and thick it is, since you like to wear it up and out of the way.
You SHOULD feel confident--you have been through a lot (from the insurance denial, the surgery, complications, attack killer salad chicken, etc) and you have worked for every ounce gone and all those yet to go.
I have no idea why people can't see the pictures. And I thought Macs were squirrelly about seeing images on message boards.
HUGS!!!
Denise
I figured out how to look at the pics.....the setting is for "friends" (which I think both of you are on my friends' list....so, you can view them)
Then: Click on the words "Three For Me" under my avatar
Then: Page down & you will see some family pics..click on the description under one of the family pics & it will pull that pic up really big
Then: Page down & on the left hand side there will be the word "PHOTOS"...click on that & all the albums will pop up!
Gheeze...I hope you're not dissapointed afer all that work...:). xo, M.
